No, I have/had a Wii. 95 65.07%

Like the thread title says, do you currently have or are planning on getting a Wii U, but have never owned a Wii? I'm curious because while the obvious assumption is that literally everyone who has a Wii U also owned a Wii, simply based on their sales numbers, maybe that isn't so? Even if extremely slim, there is the possibility that the bulk of Wii U owner's are new to the Wii name and thus have a different taste in games from owners of the original Wii. For me, the answer would be no, the Wii U is my second Nintendo console after the Wii. What about the rest of you VGchartz?

I got my Wii around 3 years before I got my Wii U. So yes. I mean no. I mean... You shouldn't have worded the question like that, OP.

bet: lost

Nope, own every Nintendo home console.

I will however say that I was one of those people who bought a Wii cause Wii Sports looked cool, then I sorta let it collect dust.

Only Wii games I ever really bothered playing were Brawl, Skyward Sword, and Xenoblade Chronicles.

The only thing I dont have/never actually played (excluding Store demos) was the Virtual Boy.

Man, I need to pick up a Virtual Boy, been curious to see if it gives you really bad headaches. xD

[3DS] Winter Playtimes [Wii U]

Around the Network

I never had a Wii and don't really want a Wii U, however I do want some sort of a Nintendo box. A few years ago when Nintendo announced a Wii mini I thought it would be a digital only box that would allow you to buy new and old school games from the eShop but it turns out it was a disc only console. What I really want is a cheap, digital console, that plays NES, SNES, and N64 games. I've considered buying a Wii U just to do that and additionally play maybe Mario Kart 8, Mario Maker, and NSMB2 but the Wii U is too expensive for that.

Having said that, I'm building a custom Nintendo/Sega Raspberry Pi emulator to do just that, It's too bad Nintendo never did something like this themselves.

Here is where I got started building the RaspPi emulator console, http://lifehacker.com/how-to-turn-your-raspberry-pi-into-a-retro-game-console-498561192.

I owned a Wii for about 2 years before getting rid of it but then got another one for free just in time for Skyward Sword. I still have it and a couple of games for it. I've owned a Wii U since Christmas 2013.

As an aside, while people like to rag on the Wii being a casual box and so on, it does have some hidden gems here and there. Hell I'm still on the lookout for some.

I've owned every nintendo home console and handheld since the NES, but I skipped the Wii. I just hated motion controls,

No, I own a wii (doesn't work anymore tho)
