Forums - Sales Discussion - Grand Theft Auto V Sells 60 Million; Take-Two Boasts "Immense" Holidays Consumer Demand

I personally got bored with it, but I understand why people like it, there is alot to do.

psn- tokila

add me, the more the merrier.

All they need is some expected DLC for the story and I see the game jumping above 100 million sales.

Very impressive. I wonder though how drastically different these numbers would be had it launched on all platforms simultaneously

Damn, it's legs are on par with Minecraft.

Proud to be a Californian.

Using these numbers we can work out that-

>35m - GTA V (PS3/360)
<25m - GTA V (PS4/One/PC)

FYI: GTA 4 = >25m

Also, Take Two confirmed that NBA 2K16 has sold in 6 million units (compared to 5.5m of NBA2K15 when aligned) and 3.5 million units of Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas on PS3 and 360. In fact Take Two were quick to point out that sales of their catalog titles (older games) have performed well on Console and Mobile when re-released/ported.

So gta 5 is guaranteed to hit 70m. Has a chance of 80m especially with PC/X1/ps4 going forward. The game will probably be released on the PS5/x2 aswell so you just never know. Maybe even a mobile release in 5-10 years. the sky really is the limit especially when the retail price is still fairly high so there's room for pricecuts. What a beast!

Yep I'd imagine there's a unbelievable number of double dippers. Everyone I know who has the current gen version also bought the previous gens one

I remember when people thought it wouldn't reach 30 million after the 16 million it sold first week lol

Bet reminder: I bet with Tboned51 that Splatoon won't reach the 1 million shipped mark by the end of 2015. I win if he loses and I lose if I lost.

So basically they sold all that and somehow still lost money. Piss poor money management skills.

You need to consider that the GAAP numbers defer revenue for GTA Online over the lifecycle of the title and for this quarter include restructuring charges.

It's better to look at the Non-GAAP numbers and Cash Flow for a better idea of how Take Two is performing. They're doing well.
