It seems to be a standard HD remaster, E3 2011 tech demo would essentially be a complete remake.

True, but Nintendo kind of built a reputation for going above and beyond "standard" remasters with the heavy reworking given to Wind Waker HD, Ocarina 3D, and Majora 3D, which makes a standard HD makeover look underwhelming by comparison.

Ya I guess, I just don't see it really affecting sales by any notable amount.

I guess we'll just have to agree to disagree.

Well how much do u expect it to sell as is and how much would u expect it to sell if it were similar to the upgrade from Wind Waker to Wind Waker HD? If it's only something like a few 100k difference (ex 1.5m vs 1.8m) than that's not really a notable amount. If u think the difference would be something more like 500k+ than yes we will have agree to disagree.

I reckon around 1.5m as is, but 2-2.5m if it had gotten a massive graphical makeover, so yeah, agree to disagree it is.

A vocal group of people on forums really isn't a good indicator for a games sales. There are very few things in the world that don't get criticized on the internet.

I'm not saying it will have bad sales, but I do think it's somewhat barebones graphical overhaul does count against it. Imagine its sales if it looked like the E3 2011 tech demo.

Aren't Ocarina and Majora's rebuilt from the ground up for 3ds though? Remakes rather then Remasters.

The whole remake vs remaster debate isn't something I want to get caught up in. Basically, what I mean is, the visual overhaul given to Ocarina 3D, Majora 3D, and Wind Waker HD set a high bar that TPHD seems to fall short of in the eyes of many. It looks more like a standard HD remaster than Nintendo's usual above-and-beyond treatment.

Absolutely. I'm confident it will reach at least 2 million units.

There is zero anticipation for this game, I can't understand how people are predicting a remake would sell 2 millions on the Wii U, especially since TP was also had a Wii version unlike Wind Waker.

The true Zelda is also releasing this year. TPHD is a footnote.

Not a fair comparison. How fast was the game discontinued on GC?

To be fair, TPHD won't exactly have a long life either, with both Zelda U and NX approaching.

I'll compare it, if it discontinues, at the same length the GC version did.

Yes, but at the same time, the wii u version won't have to compete with a superior version like the gamecube version did

Money is money. You don't just discontinue selling the game. Just because there's an alternate version avaible. That be like if Nintendo pulled Pokemon Black & White. When they released Black & White 2. It was pulled, because they wanted to burry the GC as fast as possible.

Well I'll compare it anyway, because both had significant handicaps and should sell close to the same amount.
