This moment was epic.

People who want it to release in 2017 seem to not realize that a 2017 release is pointless:
Nintendo needs to outperform SLIGHTLY the competition, in the end, they just started this generation making HD games, they surely won't start with the NX 2k or even 4k games: The hardware to make a Nintendo console that is more powerful than a PS4, with the same price as a PS4 and to get a good revenue is already out there: PS4 was built with 2012/2013 Hardware, NX will be built with 2015/2016 one...
The stronger power wouldn't affect third party either since most of them either don't know how to make games that look that good because PS4/X1 can't handle them or simply don't support Nintendo...
Waiting for 2017 would make for another major factor: PS4 and X1's install bases would grow A LOT, and I'm shure Nintendo aims to get an NX in the house of those people instead of releasing a new console on a market with a 70M PS4 and a 40/50M X1 ...

Soundwave and I have had a back and forth about this on and off for about 2 weeks now. The vast majority of his responses come off as very aggressive in their tone, so that's why I said that. Not that I take any sort of offense to his aggressive responses, I really don't in the slightest. I was basically just telling him to relax, I'm sorry that offends you soooooo much. Maybe forums aren't really for you if that sort of thing triggers you like that. Lol. Sorry to say. 

And talk about flaming and poor taste, your last paragraph here was completely unnecessary to get your point across. I know you've reported me for my post, what if I reported you for this crap? Whatever, saying that I'm not grounded in reality really doesn't bother me in the slightest because personally, personal attacks don't really affect me on this site. I couldn't care less what you think about me, but I'll tell you right now that you're taking this shit waaaay too seriously man. 

When it comes down to it, I don't have any problem with Soundwave at all. He vehemently defends his points in a way that's very aggressive, but I'm cool with it. It's all in good fun.

I agree.  I can't see Nintendo waiting out the rest of the generation and having the Wii name tarnish their brand even more while allowing Sony and Microsoft to overtake even more of the market.  Honestly, I think the NX should  be a platform that's updated with new hardware models every three or so years and natively backwards compatiable with previous generation NX software so that they will no longer have to worry about keeping pace with Sony or Microsoft in-terms of hardware.  Also, mandate that all new software be compatible with its current generation and (bare minimum) the generation before it to give people the same amount of software support as a typical console generation.

I'm just gonna sit here and go really? That argument doesn't make much sense no matter how you put it, also the word is SURE. The reason a 2017 release makes more sense to me is because of the first party pipeline more than anything else. Anyway I'm not in any camp as it is, if they release in 2016 they better have a line up ready with multiple games per month from first party and I don't think that's possible by the end of the year if its a home console. Droughts killed the Wii U more than anything else and if they decided to launch into a situation that might put them into that position then the next console will fail as well.

If it came out this year? I'd expect Nintendo to lose a major chunk of their remaining fanbase. Nobody wants to go out with the desperate girl in the group. In fact, even if it comes out in 2017, I'm going to take a long wait and see approach to the NX, like how I do when a new Windows OS comes out. I really don't like the direction the Wii U went, and if they continue this hybrid handheld/home console, I may just wait and buy one used down the road when another Zelda game comes out.

I only see a November 2017 release on a few simple points:
-Nintendo has never released a home console the same year as its E3 debut
-Nintendo has maintained a 5-6 year gap between home console release dates since the NES, why would it change?
