- Konami found out of an exploit that allowed players to get free MB coins, the in-game currency that costs real money and decided to disable the Metal Gear Online beta

- Konami community manager Robert Peeler wrote on the Steam Forums:

Due to a possible exploit, we've removed access to the Beta temporarily while a hotfix is being prepared.

Once the issue is addressed we'll provide access to the Beta once again.

- Metal Gear Online beta launched on PC last night

I suppose people keep whatever they buy so it isn't lost and that is why they put them there.

So they can find exoits and glitches like this.  They'd rather discover it now then later.  Plus they'll earn a little pocket change while they're at it.
