Forums - Gaming Discussion - Will their be anything Sony and Microsoft can do to be the winner of this years E3 if the NX happens to be very highly recieved?

Tagged games:

TBH Sony will absolutely destroy this year imo. They have so much to show off it's crazy :s.

PSn - greencactaur
Nintendo Switch FC - SW - 5152 - 6393 - 5140 Please feel free to add me :)

It baffles me how Nintendo fans are happy about ONE game at e3 like it's a badge of honor. No Nintendo isn't winning because they have no lineup. A LINEUP is implied to be plural, at least 2 and Nintendo has ONE game at e3. Why would a good response to the NX help Nintendo win e3. They already said the NX won't be at e3. If anything Nintendo already lost e3 and they have no chance of winning.

And a God of War 4, the Kojima Game, TLOU2, the new Sucker Punch game, ect. I think all of sony's devs, or most are working on a game right now, 3 to 6 good games are better than one that we already know is coming.

This thread is/was dumb either way. Nintendo has a good line up for E3, so Sony and MS should just give up and show nothing? Yeah, ok.

Yeah it was bad from the premise. OP assumes Nintendo on its good day wins automatically and mainstream still care about Nintendo. Fact is Nintendo has been getting less and less relevant over the years, not more popular. The franchises they use have become predictable, even if they brought back Metroid and it looked awesome, Sony has an answer. Sony's conferences are more exciting and have more surprising announcements and they don't just limit it to E3 season like Nintendo and MS. There's things to look foward to year round with E3, TGS, Gamescom/PGW, PSX.

Playstation is expanding rapidly with PSN now making more money than all of Nintendo, embracing 3rd parties and non-Playstation hardware with PS Now, Vue etc. Nintendo on the other hand feels like they have holed themselves up milking whatever's left of their hardcore fans with Amiibos, and their mobile effort looks to be too little too late, with Miitomo already off the charts.

Nintendo lost the marketshare this gen and now start losing mindshare as well missing E3, not having anything this holiday etc. Whatever NX is it needs to generate Wii level hype because the CoD/Fifa crowd isn't gonna get a Nintendo system just because "hey we do 1080p too now guyz! it looks betta than yo ps4"

Typical hater talk. You never change.

Ok, let's see what would Microsoft need to do for them "win" ... For me at least

Recore - gameplay and details, this is a must, most anticipated new IP in a long time.

D4 season 2 - mostly wishfull thinking, but the first season is one of the best games on XO.

Below, Inside, Ashen and Cuphead - new gameplay and release dates, 4 of my most anticipated Indie games of all time.

Forza Horizon 3 - This year release, this alone could "win" E3, loved the second game, one of the best most fun MPs I've ever played, getting to just below level 300. This is a must!

Halo Wars 2 - new gameplay and release date.

Sea of Thieves - new details and gameplay.

Gears of War 4 - new gameplay.

Alan Wake 2 - confirmed to be in development by a second Remedy team with a 2017ish release.

Not asking for much, IMO a very realistic E3 from MS.

Wasn't this confirmed to be in production already? So it seems very likely it will be there to me.

Sony can bring back Crash and the internet would explode.

I think more only Sony fans who were around long enough to know what Crash is would explode.

The extreme majority of gamers know who Crash bandicoot is, he's a gaming icon.

I think Sony could easily win E3 with just a few announcements like price cut, God of War 4, SuckerPunch game or Sony Bend or both along with a lot of new footage of games that we already know of and i truly think Crash is gonna be back at this E3.

For me, nothing MS can do to "win" E3 for me.

Sony has so much to offer it's not even funny, I have no doubt Sony will "win" E3 again.

Agreed. It's much more about the numbers than anything else. Not many people like every game so the more games they have there the more chance that there will be some people like. I personally couldn't care less about Zelda so to me Nintendo's E3 isn't even relevant.

Well, I can certainly agree now that we know there will be no NX that it is going to be nearly impossible. Would be crazy if Zelda U was just that good though, lol.

And just because they won't have anything else playable(which is irrelevant for us anyways) doesn't mean they won't show something else

Without NX, what can they show?

Of course there is. This is a bizarre question and without addressing it directly, I think Sony has the highest probability of "winning" E3. Nintendo looks to be on track for a disappointing E3.
