Forums - Gaming Discussion - Overpowered abilities, attacks, moves, perks, etc. that have made a game too easy

Have you ever encountered one of those? Techniques that the game devs put in a game that facilitate dispatching enemies or remaining alive during gameplay?

You know those features are overpowered because the moment you "get" them or figure them out you can feel like you are just riding the game and what demanded special care or attention before is no longer a concern.

It could be:

- an attack

- a command

- a perk

- any status altering feature

Have you encountered any of those?

Have you ever found one of those and somehow felt like the devs shouldn't have put them there because they made the game too easy?

Nintendo is selling their IPs to Microsoft and this is true because:

Meta Knight the thread? EVERYTHING about him is OP.

Pyromancy in Dark Souls made the game even easier. Especially in the original non patched version. Is still op in the latest one, thought.

Limit Breaks in FF7. Like Ultras in SF4, Limit Breaks rewards incompetence with the most OP moves by far. They can also be spammed using the mimic command.

Auras in FF8, 'cause limits are still OP in this one too and you can spam switch characters in order to get them every turn.

That would be force lightning in Knights of the Old Republic I/II.

Especially as a Jedi Consular it made both games ridiculously easy.

The exp. share in Pokemon X/Y. If you have that item activated, you'll alwways be a couple of levels higher than other trainser. Training has been almost erradicated.

You know it deserves the GOTY.

Not so much against human players but in most fighting games grappler characters usually can easily destroy the AI. Zangief makes makes most of the challenges in SF4 very easy, just spam lariat. In Persona 4 Arena score attack is ultra hard but with Kanji it's a joke. And even the near impossible Unlimited Mars mode in Blazblue is made kind of reasonable with Tager.

This is very true. I didn't use the Exp. share at all during my first and only playthrough to avoid these issues and it made everything a lot more difficult. By the time I reached Elite Four, trainers were always around 5-10 levels above me.

From more recent, in Dragon Age Inquisition the archer's Hail of Arrows ability made it very easy to beat any enemy. I think I put the game on the hardest difficulty and still took down level 23 dragons at level 18.

This said, it glitched the game loads too if you spammed it. They've probably updated the game since and made it so you can't exploit it this way anymore.

Hmm, pie.

Land Decimator in Disgaea 5. Very low power skill that touches every ennemy on the map and reduce the time to plat' from about 200 hours to about 100.
