yea, i think people were saying that 11 million is sell through, while the 10.73 number is shipped.  I know the numbers aren't official.

Poor numbers, but we already knew that.

I do respect Nintendo a lot though for always giving us numbers, regardless of how well their system is doing. That's one thing that really annoys me about Sony and Microsoft.

That's because that other console which is actually still ahead of the Wii U is never getting a successor.  That other company aka Sony have zero titles in development for it and they'll only continue to support it with 3Rd party content in Japan for a few more years for the profits.  

 

Nintendo I imagine want to try and pull off another Wii next gen so they are trying to stay relevant.  Apples and oranges tak San.

You say that like I'm disappointed with it.  Whether they hide it or not the Vita is still bigger than the Wii U and the PS4 is doing way better than the 3DS especially software.  

 

Edit: Turns out it was amiibo.  So you should retract the praise you just gave them until they actually announce new numbers. 

How much longer tho? The gap is closing. :P

Also, why comparing home consoles to portables and not portables x portables and consoles x consoles? :P Doesn't make much sense.





Bet with Teeqoz for 2 weeks of avatar and sig control that Super Mario Odyssey would ship more than 7m on its first 2 months. The game shipped 9.07m, so I won

I'm a person who likes comparisons and this one is fascinating.  

 

I would say the Wii U because it sells well (compared to Vita in December).  But the interesting thing is the Wii U will likely get a successor next year or in 2017. 

 

And the thing is we know Vita won't so it will probably chug along (mostly in Japan)  for a few years.  It can really go either way and it's why I like this match up so much.

I get you. It's really interesing to watch... and it can go either way in the end indeed.  Never thought it'd be this fun to watch a battle between 2 living failures.

Better than the Wii for obvious reasons. Not only can it do everything the Wii did, but it lets us play Nintendo games in HD(which is an amazing thing-try mario kart in HD, you won't regret it). Sure, the tablet thing is horrible and clunky, but the pro controller is good enough for me.

12/22/2016- Made a bet with Ganoncrotch that the first 6 months of 2017 will be worse than 2016. A poll will be made to determine the winner. Loser has to take a picture of them imitating their profile picture.

Basically it's only at half of what the GameCube did LTD and it's already used up Mario Kart, Smash Bros. Splatoon, Mario 2D and 3D, DKC, Xenoblade, Bayonetta, Wii Fit/Sports/Party, Yoshi, Pikmin, etc.

Let that sink in for a second. This is a complete and utter disaster.

Isn't this confirmed that this was mistake and they thought on Amiibo instead of Wii U!?

Nintendo nevers saying LTD numbers on NPD, only on quarter reports.
And of course Wii U was sold more than 11m, it was 10.7m on 31. September.
