Forums - Sales Discussion - Hardware 28th November - Black Friday Week

If ps4 number was higher most of you would jump around and say ps4 won who cares about NPD now because Xbox number is better no everyone saying we wait for NPD lol so typical

We have to because these numbers are completely wrong, unless you believe the PS4 only sold 100k since the 22nd, including Black Friday? Is that what you're saying?

1. PS4 is probably higher based on all the current info we have, but maybe XBO won.

2. Anyone that says who cares about NPD in comparison to VGC (especially since VGC adjusts their numbers to NPD's results) is a dumbass and shouldn't be acknowledged in the first place.

3. PS4 sold through to consumers 30.2 million units as of November 22 and VGC has it at 30.3 million as of November 28. That makes no sense whatsoever.

Only the full month. But VGC has Xb one winning November by about 80-90K at the moment. And that seems unlikely.

Oh so how do we know who won Black Friday?

Well, the only solid information we have thus far is from Infoscout who basically gave the slight edge to the PS4 on BF.  Beyond that, neither Sony or Microsoft have come out and said we won, for certain.  Which means BF was very likely quite close.  So, add in the 3 months of SW and Black Ops preorders, and it's simply laughable to suggest XB1 won Nov by 90K.

For Machina and Brett:

Would it help if we created a monthly thread that would gather all hardware sales info in OP so that you could use it along with whatever formula and extrapolation you are using? If it helps, I'm sure mods along with users will be happy to help out.

So vgchartz has ps4 at 30.2m after BF whereas sony said it sold that amount before it? yeah makes sense.

But thanks to Celador I know that next NPD is the 12/10/15 in USA so you don't have to wait too long.

These numbers are so wrong LOL

Im siding with GG on this. There is absolutely NO WAY that the Ps4 could have lost on the US.

You can bookmark this comment, save it on your HDD, whatever. There is 0% chance of the Ps4 losing November.

To the guy laughing about people waiting for the NPD, well those are the officials numbers bro.

Unless MS and Sony both come out and give real exact numbers (which would pretty much be impossible) there's no way for us to know for sure.

Anyways, regardless of whether the numbers are accurate to a T, these are good results for MicroSony's consoles. Especially considering there wasn't really a widespread firesale on value like we saw for both platforms last Black Friday. I think we can admit Battlefront hasn't had the effect on hardware lots thought it would. At least not yet. There's still a chance if Episode 7 sets the world on fire then people might snatch them up at a faster rate. It's essentially an online only title and not very good.

If these numbers are true, that would be surprising considering reports from Black Friday had PS4 winning and Xbox pretty understocked.

Huh?

Where was the Xbox One out of stock? At least the biggest online retailers had the X1 on stock.
