Outdated you say. You are doing yourself a great mischieve. There are games from nes sms to ps2 dc gc. That are epic and graphically still relevant. No dlc and no micro and drm bs. You are playing the game and that is what you do. No updates. Just play that game.

Megadrive has phantasy star and crusader centy. An underated yet better rpg then zelda imo

Sms and nes. Ys vanished omen. Outdated graphics for sure. But give it an effort and you will cry and rage quit cause u dont have the skills perhaps.
Ps2 omg huuuuuuge rpg library and loads of genres non existant on ps3 and 4
Gamecube. Billy the hatcher. Metal gear solid 1 remaster( only on gamecube)
By the way the dc gc and ps2 have games with private servers.
Basically that gen was the last that had the freedom of owning.

Well, we clearly have different tastes, as there are no games on PS4/XB1/WiiU that are as good as the best games on SNES/PS1/PS2. But hey, old consoles definitely have no value when people pay $90 just for a cartridge of Chrono Trigger, right? All i know is I'm glad that I am able to look past a games "graphics" and enjoy it for what it is, not what it looks like.

Also, I agree that the PS4/XB1 are better systems. I don't think anyone would say they aren't. My point is, some people LIKE other systems more, just like OP does, and there is nothing wrong with that

Imo from sms and nes on all consoles are not out to date. Atari 2600 is. Those consoles were mostly about high scores and challenges and had little to no story. I still love commodore 64c just because of black hawk

The WiiU is a good system, the fact is the majority are brainwashed by the other two's marketing like in there commercials, that never show any gameplay footage and games are sold like they are a movies, just because something does not sell well does not mean it is bad at all, the masses are controlled by marketing, these are your casual "gamers" that play sports games and games like cod and gta.

The fact that you choose to play multiplats on xbox one with lower resolution and calling the ps3 library boring shows you dislike Sony products to begin with in my opinion. The ps4 gets exclusives every month from Japan just like in your beloved ps2 era, games exclusivley not on the wiiu or xbox one.

I don't dislike Sony products, and if you read my post properly, I said I only have an XB1 to play multiplats with my friends (all have an XB1 and don't play on pc), otherwise I would get rid of it as it has no value to me. I take my ps2 with me wherever I go. I have a vita, I just replayed Bloodborne on my ps4. I play games regardless of what system they are on; if a system has games that interest me, I will buy it, whether it is Sony or Nintendo or Microsoft. My point is, I think they started to take a much different direction with their games and focus after the ps2. There used to be so many great, unique games that were exclusive to the PS systems and not found elsewhere (DMC, onimusha, Silent Hill/Fatal Frame, Jak, Socom, SMT, Okami, Shadow Hearts, Ico/SOTC, Breath of Fire, Suikoden,  many many more, etc.), but I have not found this to be the case with the ps3/4. I am disappointed. I am looking forward to some games but I just feel like there's still something missing. I have more important things to worry about than having a dumb allegiance for one company.

While I don't encourage the sale of old consoles to get new ones...the fact you can easily and cheaply make a sweet all-in-one emulation box for pre-5th gen with a Raspberry Pi has made the idea of collecting these old games kind of laughable. Play the old games...any and all of them, some fan translated, with the ease of use from save states and a modern controller. Nostalgia can go take a hike IMO.

I'm still debating on whether or not to sell my little brother off for a PS4. But I make a decent wage so might just buy it that way instead
