Not sure but i'm pretty sure most of them died in the russian bombing. I don't think Russia cares about collaterial damage, just that the ISIS terrorist is eliminated. Rather the ISIS are very evil faction, Both Russia and US have hidden agendas and both aren't really the good side either.

Area in which Russian jet fell is under bombings from 6 jets and 2 helicopters for several hours now. No turkish jets in sight.

Survived pilot is telling that it was no warnings from Turkey. He plans to return to Siria and to revenge for his fallen comrade.
