I think the issue here lies more with the fact that you start off by claiming there's a 300% error, and now you say theres a 50% error. There's a pretty big difference between those two figures.

Also there's a reason Machina set up a thread where we can give official game sales anouncements so that they can adjust software sales.

I still think the error is much much bigger. I put 50% so that VGC defense league can feel better about themselves, as they obviously accept every bullshit served to them by this site.

I mean, if the management of this site is not even capable of following sales announcements (not like there are dozens of them on a daily basis) but have to beg peoplebfor links, it is obvious that they are doing a piss poor halfassed job. In return, I adblock them so that they don't receive revenue from me for their shitty job.

What you think about how big the error is is irrelevant when actual evidence points towards it being about 50%, not "much bigger".

I want VGC's accuracy to improve, but I just don't think the correct way to go about that is to tell VGC to stop trying to track software sales, and then try to invalidate VGC's numbers bysaying they are 300% off when they are 50% off, etc.

Good that we got synchro to 1 month ago... So perhaps before NPD release we can get October totals for HW? I believe Machina will be able to do it.

On the NBA side... I like it, I often buy one game of NBA in the gen, but as far as I know the sales of NBA in Brazil aren't considerable.

If you think the numbers are so useless, why are you the biggest poster in this thread? What battle are you trying to fight? If Machina drops the tracking nothing will change in the forum, so how your complaints are supposed to help?

Actually, that's not quite true. Pretty sure there has been a noticable drop in activity here since the charts started being late earlier in the year. So no charts at all will just mean even less people coming here and posting on the forums.

Well I forgot that... I was more thinking on the side that if Machina wasn't doing this he could be improving the forum and atracting better threads and convos... but yes you are right, without the charts we probably would continue bleeding.

Machina last HW update was like 3 weeks in a punch about 2 weeks ago, like some days after announcing he would pick it up. So I believe we will soon pick more HW data updated... and probably some adjustments based on Sony shipments. Maybe something like 1-1.5M up

Agreed. Machina/ioi are working hard on these figures and are trying to make them accurate and are happy to accept help to make them more accurate. If people have information for that then put it in the right thread and let Machina sort it out, that just benefits everyone in the long run. Just throwing around insults however helps no one.

BTW, with some help from Tachikoma on the site code, they could probably achieve 100% accuracy on one number: the times Burek complains about numbers accuracy.

No way.... how would you know if he is going to complain 5 or 20 times per update?

Vgc says that SMM sold 950k in 23 days, but we already know the game sold at least 1m in 21 days. Undertracked probably in Europe.

That's shipped and includes digital. There's very little chance that VGC is undertracking it, in fact it's probably more likely to be overtracked...

No, that was sold. Nintendo revealed few days ago 1.88m shipped by the exact same day they revealed that the game sold 1 milion, September 30th. So no, is definitely not overtracked and probably undertracked.

That wasn't its quarterly #'s

The week after ended with 1.8 million shipped and digital.

So its probably a little undertrack but not much.

Fair enough, my mistake.

It would however still include digital. Isn't digital usually around 10%, possibly a little less for Nintendo? So 50k+ being digital doesn't seem at all unlikely to me.

Then it would be something like 80K digital in 21 days. Is possible, that´s a ton of digital sales for WiiU standars but since the game is like 1.5GB is possible I guess.
