Nintendo shared first details about Nintendo Account (its new term for accounts) and My Nintendo (new membership service) during its financial results briefing today. Here’s a breakdown of everything we know:

– Ease of creation/use of Nintendo Accounts being emphasized
– Register with NNID, Facebook, Twitter, Google, e-mail
– Purchase software downloads on the site, see purchases, play info, and game-related messages
– Nintendo will send notices and gifts
– Ex: Animal Crossing character called Isabel may send some information or a present to those who are playing with that game, Mario Kart players may receive a notice about add-on content and we may also send a message that enables the recipient to purchase some software at an attractive price point on his or her birthday
– Games purchased (by browser) can be automatically downloaded to your system
– Receive points by using and playing games or purchasing them
– This applies to both console and mobile
– Use points on digital goods (maybe DLC), original goods, and coupons
– Use your account in conjunction with the theme park, as well as theaters and stores
– Make friends with those who enjoy playing games together by establishing “Friend” relationships
– Friend relationship can be established only between two people who know each other and have consented to the relationship
– This Friend relationship can be used for software for dedicated game systems and smart device applications
– Nintendo Accounts will provide cloud storage of character and save data
– Will provide membership service benefits in other real-life facilities such as theme parks, movie theaters and retail outlets
– My Nintendo will work as a bridge between dedicated game systems and smart devices

Sounds fairly cool

Finally, a release date! MyNintendo sounds great, specially if they continue with the physical goodies. Also, odd that they didn't mention Miiverse.

Pretty much everything I said it would be.

It took long enough and it's really just borrowing what's been done elsewhere but it does sound like a significant improvement. I remember saying they needed to have this in place before the Wii U launched but at least they'll have it before the NX pops forth.

I'd guess that the mobile deal provided the real impetus. I wonder if they got outside help on the setup.

Hope the friends thing doesn't end up being more convoluted than necessary.

The more i hear about My Nintendo, the more excited i am about this new membership program.I find the whole program very good(for the things we heard so far), but i find two things genious:
The program will be, apparentely, personalized to each person, such as the example given that they might give an attractive price for something in your birthday.(dont know if microsoft or sony do that.I dont think so, but im not sure)

And the biggest of all, gaining points playing games.That is something that i cant understand why it wasnt done before.Not only incentivate people playing the game to the end and even more, giving a bigger lasting appeal to every game, but it also gives an incentive to buy more games, especially those who like to 100% games, because they are getting possibly money out of doing something they love.Its brilliant, i tell you

Edit:forgot to said that, these points can be used to get discounts, making it atractive to people buy even more games.Brilliant

WOW! This two points sounds VERY interesting....... Not really sure how it would work but damn! im HYPED!!!! Times are changing!
