Forums - PC Discussion - Help me pick out a laptop

My GF needs a laptop for college its primary purpose will be things like Photoshop and general use but me and her both enjoy PC gaming from time to time so we want a solid GPU (but do not care to run the latest games at 1080p or anything)

Our budget is about 750$

This is in first place right now because Lenovo build quality and honestly I have not found an overall better PC for less (Decent battery life would be preferred and since this has a "U" processor it should ensure that)

That is actually a really good price for what you are getting and will do everything you want easily. I was not able to find something a bang for your buck better then that after 5-10min of searching.

I came to the same conclusion pretty much. This is not a system for a hardcore PC gamer but it can handle the stuff we care about while having a decent battery life. I am not the greatest when it comes to PC hardware so I wanted some of you more experienced guys to take a peek for me. I am buying one tomorrow when I get paid

Yeah it even has 8GB of ssd. Would have been nice to have a touch more to fit the OS on it, but hey throw game installs and photoshop on it and they'll load crazy fast.

edit: well maybe the OS is on the SSHD.  Some of the reviews said it was and the boot time is only ~10 seconds.

Anybody else have any suggestions before I buy the Lenovo? Have not found a PC better than that one within my budget

For the record I ended up buying that Lenovo and we both love it. Great battery life and great performance

That isn't really how an SSHD works at all, the OS and the firmware of the drive will decide which files go into the "SSD" area of the drive, you don't have any input in this, much the same as you don't decide what is stored in the cache of your CPU.

Congratz Rolltide on the new laptop.

Why not check me out on youtube and help me on the way to 2k subs over at www.youtube.com/stormcloudlive

Yeah they automatically move your most used files on to the SSD part of it automatically, they work wonders I have had one in my old laptop for a couple of years now. It is getting pretty close to time to replace mine as well lol

I'm really pathetic and have no friends. Please excuse the trolling message that used to be here, I don't know any better.
