My 1st week prediction is just over 1 million -- with 4 million sold by end of 2015

WW - ~500k
HW - ~80k

i hope Nintendo would advertise more the Wii U bundle. and break the 100k HW sales.

There are ads on many different channels. I see this game being huge.

If done right, this game will be really big, and help the Wii U significantly.

There's a massive remnant of Mario fans of the 80s/90s to whom Super Mario Maker is infinitely more appealing than any other WiiU release thus far.

There's a considerably good chance this is actually the WiiU's biggest HW mover so far. Kind of helps though that it gets followed up by other decent releases  within 3 months after SMM release (Yoshi, AC Amiibo crossing, Star Fox, XCX) and it has the rest of the holiday to go.

Compare SMM to previous notable WiiU september releases: Wind Waker HD, Rayman Legends, TW101, Hyrule Warriors. It's obvious SMM walks all over those in the HW moving department

Certainly.
Especially in the US, where there hasn't been any new release from Nintendo since late May (Splatoon). Sales over there probably can't get much worse.

It could be big if done correctly..

bound to give a small boost to hardware.. (nothing major though).

The game itself will sell okay as well.

Well in fairness I haven't watched much TV off late but often hear splatoon adds when my lad watching TV
