Forums - Nintendo Discussion - Predict 1st Party (or similar) NX's launch window games

Thought it would be fun to predict what would be available on NX for it first year so here's my prediction list!

November - December:

Zelda NX - EAD Group No.3

2D Mario - Nintendo EAD

New Multiplayer Mini game -  EAD Group No. 2

February:

Another Multiplayer Mini game - EAD Group No. 2

April: Smash Bros for NX (remaster)- Sora Ltd
August: Super Pokken Tournament - Bandai Namco
October: Donkey Kong 2D or 3D - Retro Studios
November: Super Mario 2.5D or 3D - EAD Tokyo
December:  Animal Crossing - EAD Group No. 2

I based the developers on who made the previous series installment. There also four EAD groups so one of those EAD no. 2 can be made by no. 1 or 4 since previous installments have been developed by different EAD groups before. Strangely New Super Mario Bros U was made by a non specific EAD group, at least according to Wikipedia.

Aside from 3D Mario and Zelda, there's literally no way to guess. Only hopes. Though I think that Pokemon Gen 7 will release Fall/Winter 2017. That's all I got. Also DQ11.

I hope to see Nintendo vs. Capcom and Diddy Kong Racing Returns be the NX's Smash and Kart. I don't think they'd be launch window games, though.

I think there's a good chance we will see something from Retro Studios for NX's first year though. They finished developing DKC:TF at 2013 and haven't released a new game since then! And if they're making another DK platforming game, they could probably get it released in time for NX's 1st year.

I think the development cost for Smash bros Wii U, the 3DS port, and its comparatively low sales on the Wii U will warrant a remastered version for the NX. Plus, they can squeeze an extra year of fighter, costume, or stage dlc this way before Smash vs Capcom releases.

No, it's not fun.

I hope everyone who's excited for the NX dies.

Isn't it fun to predict future Nintendo games though? It's unfortunate that many may not launch with the Wii U but that's just how it is.

I really don't want to see another 2D Mario game.

Anyway if your list would come true then the NX would bomb hard as Nintendo would have learned nothing from this gen.

Very true. I seriously hope that it's a 3D Donkey Kong game/DKR2. I forgot about Retro lol.

I don't think there will be a remastered version. It'll just be available on the eshop at launch since the NX will be BC. It's already 1080p 60fps. There's nothing to remaster. I can see them repackaging Smash and Kart so that all of the DLC is included for $60 once the NX launches, but that's it.

And tiny gripe, but it wouldn't be Smash vs. Capcom, it would be Nintendo vs. Capcom. They'd try to differenciate them from Smash with NvC by making it a traditional fighting game instead of a party brawler, so they definitely wouldn't include the Smash brand in the title.

I do, just one that isn't a derivative nightmare like the entire NSMB series. But that's long gone, so I agree. I'd rather no new 2D Mario than NSMBNX.

I'll agree there.

What's your opinion on Super Mario Maker? Still haven't decided if I will get it.

I have 0% intrest. I don't think it looks bad or anything. It's a neat idea, but it's definitely the farthest thing from a holiday block buster title, and it bothers me that a game originally intented to be an Q1 throwaway title is now being hyped up as the second coming of 2D Mario merely because they had to move shit around to fill in for Zelda. It's just a level editor. Maybe it's the best level editor ever created, but it's still just a level editor. Big whoop.

And people calling it Nintendo's Minecraft need to sit down.
