Very good competition is great in the gpu market
I want to upgrade my gpu should i go with amd or nvidia this time ?

You're asking the wrong question.  "What GPU should I get?" is the correct question, and the answer is almost assuradly the R9 390 8GB.

Thanx mate its price is around 270$ great price hope the perfomance is great aswell ;)

If money is not a problem, I'd argue that the best option would be one of the factory overclocked 980Ti cards.

The 980Ti may have 2GB less of VRAM, but they are a lot more powerful and, let's be honest, the 390 will run out of power tu run modern games before the lack of VRAM becomes a problem for the 980Ti.

Please excuse my bad English.

Currently gaming on a PC with an i5-4670k@stock (for now), 16Gb RAM 1600 MHz and a GTX 1070

Steam / Live / NNID : jonxiquet    Add me if you want, but I'm a single player gamer.

Excellent freaking price!  Usually $340.  In my experience the SAPPHIRE and MSI versions of this model are the best, but most likely almost any will do well.

Prediction for console Lifetime sales:

Wii:100-120 million, PS3:80-110 million, 360:70-100 million

[Prediction Made 11/5/2009]

3DS: 65m, PSV: 22m, Wii U: 18-22m, PS4: 80-120m, X1: 35-55m

I gauruntee the PS5 comes out after only 5-6 years after the launch of the PS4.

The 980 Ti is like 30-40% stronger for 100% more money.  The 390's price/performance is just unrivaled.

I agree with you, but when I told him that it's about the budget you have, he said:

Depends on your budget.

I want the best one that can work me for years and has juice to max out all games this year and beyound

And in that case, a 980Ti card is the best option.

nVidia - last nVidia card I had was 4400 Ti, I've been with ATI/AMD ever since, but my honest opinion is that nVidia is the way to go right now. AMD still can't get their shit when it comes to drivers, sure DX12 will change some things, but we're still far from DX11 becoming irrelevant.

Waiting for actual game comparisons(gpu limited) and not demo show pieces.

You see I actually disagree completely.  If you want to play in 1080p, the 980 Ti and 390 will give you the exact same experience - even 5 years down the line.  If you want to play in 4K - 390 CF is the same price and almost twice as powerful with more VRAM.

It is common knowledge that Nvidia has worse drivers right now.  No bias here - I own from both companies but it is just a fact.
