Forums - Gaming Discussion - Exclusives with maths: 1486 points for PS4, 791 for XBO, 2455 for Wii U

So Windows Ten games should be counted as a full exclusive once they launch. When you buy one, you can play the game on the console or the PC. So Windows ten is a exclusive for MS no matter how you dice it.

Since Indie's are so great and count for everything this gen, Windows 10 exclusives should count just the same if not more.

The term exclusive doesnt make much sense here, one console offers a ton of PC ports while the other doesnt. I would like to see a list of pure exclusives not available on any other device. Not sure why the X1 and PS4 get credit for games that have reviewed well on PC and made there mark on PC.

For the record, not that it will make a difference, FM5 sits on a 79 meta not a 78.

Well I am not gonna list the actual games, but Wikipedia makes finding the true exclusives very easy. For PS4 and Xbone, anyway. Nintendo has way too many eShop games/exclusives for me to bother.

PS4 - 18 (7 digital only, 4 Japan only)
Average metascore (for those that have one): 67

Xbone - 18 (11 digital only, 1 Asia only)
Average metascore (for those that have one): 67

Both list of exclusives have a title in the 20's metascore IIRC dragging them down. I believe 11 of the PS4 exclusives have reviews, 13 for Xbone. If I cared to sit and count them, WiiU would have tons of exclusive games, mostly eShop shovelware though imho.

Anyway, in terms of "true" exclusives, it's actually way closer than I imagined. I figured PS4 would still have more games. Xbone has more digital exclusives than I thought.

News flash: The primary function of owning a PC is to not play games.  Sure, almost everyone owns a PC, like myself, but I refuse to play any sort of games on them.  Just because you play both PC games and console games doesn't mean that everyone else does.  In fact, I would argue that most gamers stick to one or the other.

@bold -  So then are you prepared to eliminate every XB1 console exclusive game that is also on the PC?  Are those XB1 PC ports "filler" as well?  You can't have it both ways

Exclusive means you cant get them anywhere else, except half of the PS4 list is available on PC. I would say dont include XB1 titles aswell because there not pure exclusives. I am a PC gamer and i can tell you judging from that list, there are alot of high quality exclusives on X1 not availble to me.  Excluding the PC games from both line ups makes this list alittle more interesting.

sigh...fine, if someone can show me a decent place to find a list of all the games out for both platforms I'll grant your with and only include games that are only available on the PS4, and are only available on the Xbox One.

Bet with Adamblaziken:

I bet that on launch the Nintendo Switch will have no built in in-game voice chat. He bets that it will. The winner gets six months of avatar control over the other user.

Nah, no one is complaining. Just making the point that for a vast majority of people, no, PS3 was no backwards compatible last gen. Hope that helps.

Doesn't change my initial statement.  Hope that helps.

It does, though, whether you're going to admit it or not.

Maybe you don't understand how quickly Sony removed the PS2 BC, idk. But your comment was silly considering Sony started taking away BC right after the first model.

What does Sony taking away BC have anything to do with the point I was making?  If you didn't understand my point, I can explain it a second time just for you.  If you need any other help, just let me know.

This useless list don't mean absolutely nothing

Sounds like a fun idea. Would be interesting to go through the compiled data now and see if you can extract out any meaningful trends like if games with a higher multiplier (therefore more exclusive) tend to score better on metacritic.

Also I love the image of a heated debate between siblings that has you both rushing to excel to prove it one way or the other.

The days of just shouting at your sibling and storming off has been replaced by Excel and maths... awesome :)

Maybe you just forgot what you said? Idk.I understand you were just trying to point out hypocrisy in console warz, but your example was just weak.

Your point about PS3 being BC with PS2 when people were screaming "no gamez!1" doesn't mean anything when for most of those people, PS3 wasn't BC. That's why BC games didn't count last gen. You can't count something if 90% of the userbase can't use it. Such is the slippery slope you experience when companies take features away. Direct any further confusion towards Sony, please.

Isn't that a bit of an oxymoron?
