Forums - Nintendo Discussion - Pokemon Generations Olympics Event # 2 - The Diving Race

Approved by Leadified and Veknoid_outcast

Welcome back to the Pokemon Olympic games! In this event, the Pokemon that you have selected will dive to one of the deepest points in the ocean having to deal with immense water pressure as they try to be the first one to touch the ocean floor. Before we get into this competition, if you've missed the previous competition or haven't seen the overall results then you'll find them below:

Event #1: http://gamrconnect.vgchartz.com/thread.php?id=206867&page=1#

Event #1 Results:  http://gamrconnect.vgchartz.com/post.php?id=7469795

Overall Individual Results: http://gamrconnect.vgchartz.com/post.php?id=7456846

Now without further adieu, we'll now explain how the diving competition works. This competition has 12 competitors, works very much like the Best user competition where each position will be given points and the one with the most over all will win. Here is an example of how you will vote this competition:

12p Squirtle

11p Treecko

10p Chimchar

All the way down until 1 point. These places represent who you think will place first with the one you think will win getting 12 points with the one you think would lose getting 1 and every placement in between.

Now that the rules have been explained we will now introduce the Pokemon that were selected to represent their generation!

Representing Generation 1- Kanto, we have:

Blastoise and Gyarados!
Representing Generation 2 - Johto, we have:
Kingdra and Lugia!
Representing Generation 3- Hoenn, we have:
Milotic andGorebyss!
Representing Generation 4 - Sinnoh, we have:
Floatzel and Empoleon!
Representing Generation 5 - Unova, we have:
Samurott andSeismitoad!
Representing Generation 6 - Kalos, we have:
Greninja and Barbaracle!
Remember to vote you must give from 12p to 1p and the Pokemon with the most Points will be the winner of this event. May the best Diver win!
*This event last 24 hours
Comentators - Looking at this line up you can see, that Gen 4 wants to continue with a strong competition having the winner from last time in this one as well, though they probably didn't have any other options. Floatzel might be fast but can he handle water pressure? Looking at team kanto, they've chosen some pretty strong swimmers and Pokemon that are used to being deep under water, However gen 2 seems to be a really strong team with Lugia and Kingdra. Gen 3 has Miltoic who placed second in the swim sprint. Milotic gave everything it had but lost to floatzel, maybe that drive will push him to beat floatzel and win? Generation 5 had a very hard time in the swim sprint which leads me to believe that this might just be their weakest event however that doesn't mean samurott and his partner can't upset the crowd. They are very strong Pokemon and might be able to beat the water pressure and last but not least is gen 6. Greninja had a good race but Barbaracle didn't do so well however diving is different and he might be the stronger diver out of the two of them who knows? This event is about to get started people hold on to your hats and keep your eyes glued to the screen. This is about to be the fastest diving you have ever seen!

While floatzel may be extremeley fast he isn't very used to the deep water pressure which would severely hinder him while Lugia is an extremely fast diver and pretty much lives on the ocean floor. Kingdra is a powerful swimmer and is very much used to water pressure which would allow him to pass the struggling floatzel as well. Gyarados and Milotic would be neck and neck both being similar except with Gyarados having more power which would give it the edge. Blastoise is another Pokemon that pretty much lives on the ocean floor (at least the animal he is based off of) which allows him to shake off the water pressure with ease, I'd say he would barely like at most by a second beat floatzel. Greninja would face the exact same issues as floatzel which would allow a stronger diver like Samurott to catch up. Empoleon would be a fairly good diver and would be right there along side floatzel and Blastoise. Samurott would be able to beat greninja due to the water pressure while BarBaracle may be a slow swimmer but the water pressure wouldn't affect him much. Seismitoad would be close to him but he isn't used to being tis deep under water which would lead to him losing this round. Well that's just how I think

12p - Lugia - Will dominate as it will be used to the water pressure and is able to swim very quickly

11p - Kingdra - While Kingdra would also be able to handle the water pressure, it wouldn't be able to swim as quickly as Lugia

10p - Gorebyss - Pretty much the same as Kingdra, wouldn't be able to keep up with Lugia and stay in the same pace as Kingdra

9p - Gyarados - Will probably stay with Milotic wouldn't be able to catch up with the top three, but will be able to keep their position.

8p - Milotic

7p - Blastoise

6p - Empoleon

5p - Floatzel

4p - Greninja

3p - Samurott

2p - Barbaracle

1p - Seismitoad

Able to deal with pressure? Strong Pokemon should easily do well, meaning that heavy Pokemon can just sink, rather than swim their way to the bottom :P
