Ludicrous, he's got a better record than you in the pick 'em so I'd say he knows a little about football, probably just doesn't worship Peyton Manning as it seems you may. I think you are giving Peyton a little more credit than he deserves considering his slow and poor start to this season. Snapping under center too much or not, he's an 18 year vet and should be able to throw from anywhere back there, and read the defense from anywhere. To me, he really doesn't have it any more and just throws the ball up for grabs, allowing his receivers to do the hard work. When he throws across the middle he ALWAYS leads his receiver into a potential career ending hit, too. He needs to be able to throw with velocity to make all of the NFL throws he needs to, and he really can't any more

Not a fan of how Peyton does that either...

I never claimed his quad wasn't injured, or that his arm was injured. Just that his arm unraveled like a spaghetti noodle. He made some pretty terrible throws that you couldn't even have excused on a leg injury if his entire fibula had exploded.

So then don't know football is the answer. Ok, that's fine.

You need to use your legs to throw a football at any level, let alone professional, and let alone Peyton Manning standards. He was unable to move well or plant with his leg and the results are what we all saw on the field from that game onward. His arm was perfectly fine. His leg was not and it affected every aspect of his throwing the football.

Or hey maybe you know more than doctors/NFL experts/Peypey himself, idk :)

Had this been a problem exclusive to last season, I might be inclined to agree with you. Peyton's looked pretty poor for a while now, though, extending into this season. He's also routinely looked awful in important late season games long predating last season, so there's that too.

On the subject of knowing more than doctors, who knows. Maybe I'm just that smart. In all seriousness, if you can find me a quote from a doctor saying "Peyton Manning played bad because of his quad," or one from Peyton Manning himself, then feel free to link it here and that point might have some weight behind it.

Also, in regards to not knowing football, I'll simply say "scoreboard" and leave it at that. Or, in this case, "leaderboard."

I wasn't being serious about the football stuff, I am sure the guy is just trolling. But what exactly does this prove? My co-workers wife won the $160 money pick em this week and she doesn't know shit about football. Might as well say Jimmy won 3 football squares in the Seahawks game so he must be a Seahawk expert. (if you've never done football squares that reference will be lost on you)

Because correcting someone regarding a well known injury means you worship the player. Thread is delivering! I was simply correcting someone. Not obsessed with anyone, thanks. Though I never mind a discussion about football or the Broncos.

What exactly am I giving him credit for? For getting injured? Great job, Peyton. The issues with the Broncos offense go far far far beyond Peyton Manning, his age, and where he is taking snaps. That's why in my post which was quoted and started this whole discussion, I said the offense is playing like ass. Not Peyton Manning. He is but one member of an eleven man unit.

1. Lots of QB's throw the ball up for their WR to grab it. That's the benefit of having guys like Baybay and HEmmanuel Sanders.
2. I don't even know what to make of the bolded. Peyton throws over the middle a ton, especially now that the defenses are playing the Broncos defenses tighter. Yet no career ending hits. None last year. None in Denver. Also, aren't all hits potential career enders? What a bizarre criticism.
3. Peyton has had weird velocity since returning from his neck injury. Maybe it's the inability to feel the ball in his fingers. He will look like he has no zip on a short curl route to a TE right in the middle of the field, but then like last night he will hit Sanders on a deeeeeeeep comeback route with incredible zip.

He's not perfect. He's old as fuck, slow, takes dumb sacks too often out of injury fear I guess. But his arm is still more than capable of getting it done. Whether he has the mental fortitude is another story.

And since the guy who doesn't know about last season needs further evidence of his ignorance (I'm not going to spend too much time looking for proof of the obvious):

Denver Post article referncing it multiple times
Chargers official website talking about it
Peter King discussing it

I could go on and on with these but there is no point. You saw Peyton choke in some game years ago so that means his arm collapsed on him or some such. Ok. No point in discussing it any more from my end :)

I saw Peyton Manning perform poorly before and after the quad injury (especially in that Buffalo game last season), therefore, yes, I am inclined to believe that there is more to the situation than merely a quad injury. I've also seen him performing at a similarly poor level this season too, which also suggests that there's more at play here than merely one quad injury.

Also, once more, saying that he has a noodle arm does not mean that his arm is "collapsing" or is injured or anything other than his accuracy has decreased drastically and he's made some very poor throws.

About the bolded, may I just say he almost single handedly ended Wes Welker's career. Rarely did Welker take hits like he took with the Broncos when he was with the Pats. Brady intentionally throws the ball low where the receiver can get it when he thinks they will be lit up. Manning just leads them as he normally would, and since the ball has no zip on it, the defense has time to react and destroy the receiver. Manning is an excellent QB in today's NFL because he has that giant head with that obviously large brain in it, not because he can still make all of the throws. But he is showing signs of a fast decline, and since it has bled into this season, it leads me to believe that it is not leg related

Wes Welker had concussion issues since high school. It's reported he had anywhere from 7-19 before the three he had in Denver. Some people just get concussions easier. Strange how the other receivers and ends and backs have been fine while Peypey tries to kill them on every pass.

Can we just change everyone's last place team to the Chicago Bears and call it a wash? They've already given up on the season 3 games in.

Heh. However, Chicago's indifference may still not be enough to overcome New Orleans' raw incompetence

Also, is the Chiefs' secondary really bad, or are the Packers' receivers just REALLY good at blocking today?

Chiefs secondary isn't all that bad, I'd have to say the receivers are just playing harder than them tonight
