Man had a horrible week one always the case for me during the first week. To hard to call the games. All I know the Phins escaped out of DC with a win playing badly. Our Linebackers look horrible

Let's be honest. A horrible week is always the case for you.

I did miss two weeks last year and was Number one for week, but okay

ANNOUNCEMENT - Week 1 Results and Standings

What looked like a great start for our prediction league got a damper on Monday Night when most people picked both games wrong. What's left for most players is still a solid start into the 2015 season, but I can't help but feel disappointed due to the circumstances.

Here are the week 1 results in their new format. According to the new rules, there is no tie-breaker anymore. The best record of the week is awarded with 4 prediction points (PP), the second-best record with 2, the third-best with 1. A perfect prediction for the final game of the week also nets 1 point; this week only ReimTime managed to do it. I guess it's fitting that last year's champions of the regular season (MTZehvor) and playoff round (amp316) had a strong start. Zelhawks37 missed the first eight games of the week, so he unsurprisingly brings up the rear.

The order in the standings for week 1 should be self-explanatory based on the above results, but here's the table for completion's sake, to show that VGC has better formating now (so the full table can be posted because columns don't misalign anymore), and to explain their new look. Record, Pct. and PP are the same as always, but the tie-breaker rules have changed. So in case that two or more players have the same record and amount of PP, we'll go further to the right step by step to see who comes up with a higher number. Unlike in previous years, the first step isn't the amount of #1 finishes, but rather the combined amount of top #3 finishes in the weekly results. This will benefit more consistent players who place among the top 3 more often, rather than those who happened to have a great week every now and then, but performed poorly the rest of the time.

So we have 32 players this season which matches the number of NFL teams. The dropout rate each year falls into the 20-30% range, so I expect only ~25 players to reach the finish line. On that note, remember that the number of picks that must have been made to be eligible for either bracket of the playoffs was raised from 224 to 230, so you can only afford to miss 26 regular season games. Don't misunderstand, this is about making picks, not being right.

As for the bracket predictions, we had 24 submissions this year which falls short of last year's 30. Granted, 2014 saw five incomplete brackets while we have none this season. Last year's champion VancelX didn't find the time to defend his title, so it's already a sure thing that we'll have a new winner this time. Tyritorious submitted a bracket last Saturday, so it was after the deadline. I said that if seven people beg me to include it, then I will. Something to think about until week 2 gets kicked off on Thursday night.

Legend11 correctly predicted that GTA IV (360+PS3) would outsell SSBB. I was wrong.

Trent Dilfer may be the most annoying commentator in pro football right now. And yes, I am aware he is sharing a booth with Chris Berman.

I disagree. Bout time someone brought some fire on the commentary side of things.

I like my football commentary to have less bias.* That was a three hour Niners' blowjob, and much like any blowjob that goes on far past its time it was just messy, awkward, and ultimately unpleasant to experience or watch.

Plus, I don't really think Dilfer is fiery. Confused, loud, and incorrect, but that applies equally to his co-host, so...

*Unless it's for my team.

Carlos hyde was something else good when I saw him in the second half. Hopefully this spells success for them because I hope the hawks have another tough year. Hell, maybe even the Cardinals can win that division.

I cant really complain with my opening.

Some really hard picks here. Of course Monday Night is still the most boring game of the week.
