Friday was incredibly slow again, I've got almost nothing to report. All we've sold in the last two days are 3-4 DS.

My best friend came in to see me, and asked me to hold a Wii for him on Sunday.

I will be working on Saturday and Sunday morning, both of which will be more hectic: Sunday because of the Wiis, Saturday because of Harry Potter.

You are allowed to hold Wii's for people?

Oh and by the way, would you mind slapping your managers for me? I just took a trip down to the US from Canada, and I HAVE BEEN BEING RIPPED OFF in Canada for years. Rayman costs 60 dollars in Canada, 30 in the US. I compared them in the same stores in Canada and the US. Apparently all the prices here haven't caught up to changes in the Canadian Dollar. Of course these big chains are taking their PRECIOUS FUCKEN TIME WITH IT!!! You can bet damn well that if the Canadian dollar sunk in Value they would jack up the prices in a heart beat. Keep in mind people that today the Canadian Dollar is only about 6 cents less in value to the Ameerican.

I'm allowed to hold Wiis for... maybe 4 hours.

Back from work today!

On Saturday (when I didn't work) we sold a PS3. We have still not sold any Xbox360s this week.

We received 33 Wiis last night, and put them on the shelves this morning. People knew they were coming, because we had an ad in the paper. We sold 22 to people standing in line before the store opened: the remaining 11 sold by noon (we open at ten). This represents a slow down from last shipment, as we could sell all of them to people waiting in line with room to spare. However, it is better than the shipment before that, when we didn't sell out until 6 at night. In general, however, it's fair to say we're seeing a slight slow, but that "slowing" is relative here, of course.

I talked previously about a co worker who seemed set on getting a PS3. Today, he seemed to be indicating that now he was unsure if he would get a PS3 or 360. The Wii is definitely off the table for him, by the way.

Oh! Forgot to add that we sold a Gamecube today. This is amazing news, as we have had precisely 8 Gamecubes sitting on our shelves for months. As a side note, we still sell PS2s fairly briskly (2-3 a week? 10+ a month? Something like that).

Cool, good to see such interesting news coming from you again. It's also good to see the good old fashioned Nintendomination in action as always.

You work in South US right? heh, maybe the South likes the Wii's more than I thought if they aren't picking up any PS3's. I figured they'd be Sony turf.

No, not the South, the Midwest. Saint Louis, specifically. That's notably more northern than Los Angeles (as an example), so unfortunately I can't give information about the south.

Bodhesatva, is 33 Wiis a normal amount to receive? Are Wii shipments steady (both in size and frequency)?
Nice news about selling a GC, care to gamble how long it will take to sell the remaining 7? Btw, are you still carrying a lot of GC software?

Bodhesatva,

Do you have any info regarding attachment rates both software and hardware?

Do most of the people who buy the wii also get another game or two and an extra wiimote or do they seem pretty much satisfied with wii sports?

Same with the PS3, the few times you get a buyer, do they pick up additional games? I'm assuming they gotta pick up something since it doesn't come with a game, if so, what do they usually get?

The chart data here shows PS3 attachment rates being fairly low compared to the wii or xbox.

Selling ZERO 360's doesn't seem like a good sign... :P

Wii sales are still very strong. Can any console ever claim to sell out at a similar rate - 9 months after launch, and with no big releases or price cut in the making?

A huge proportion of people buy Wii Play, and then most are satisfied with that to start with. In terms of software sold, we sell approximately as much 360 software as we do Wii software (A little less 360 software now, I'd say, but I'm just eyeballing it).

Yes, 33 is a normal amount (our shipments range between 25 and 50) and we get a shipment every 2-3 weeks, on the dot, on Sundays.

I'd guess we'll sell the Gamecubes by Christmas, since sales pick up by then. We still recieve regular shipments of PS2s however, in both silver and black.

No, we aren't carrying a lot of Gamecube software. Our gamecube library is now smaller than our Wii library, despite the fact that the Wii is 8 months old and the GC 5 years. Our PS2 section, however, is easily the largest of all consoles currently. The DS is approximately as large.
