I think they increased availability for Father's day. Hope the increased shipments is a new trend, and not just a one week extra for Father's day.

Bodhestava ,maybe you are being fair to the truth and all but seeing as you attack and critize the PS3 and Sony in all the other threads I am not very sure about you being unbiased .After all its not as we can say sellers of videogames arent composed in a good percentage by fanboys .Most of time I go to a store and ask for something the retailer must have a go to selling me his particular obsession or fave machine .

Everyone has a bias. And Bodhesatva doesn't attack and criticize Sony in EVERY thread, I fear you are stretching it a bit far. And you're right, a lot of sellers in the stores do have favorites, and sometimes that comes through when they are selling. I've noticed a lot of them suggest getting something other than a PS3 simply because there aren't many games that appeal to casual gamers, and the 360 and Wii have a better lineup for cheaper.

I'm not sure what your purpose is in even posting that, Diomedes. The NPD verifies most of the observations Bodhesatva has made, whether he is biased or not.

The Wal-Mart I went to recently remodeled their electronics department. Much more room was given to the Wii, DS, and GBA. 3.5 normal-sized game displays (4 or so feet wide, 7 or 8 feet tall). Xbox had 2, with mostly Xbox games and a few 360 games in one, and all 360 in another. PS2 had almost 2, with just a little space for PS3 games. PSP had a display for itself, had a fair amount of games there.

I just got back from my WalMart (PA). They used to have a PS3 on display in a glass can in front of the register. Now they have a Wii. Ironically, there are still PS3's on the shelves, but not a Wii to be seen (saw one a month ago. That was about it).

Yea I don't get that, why not promote the items that aren't selling. Why bother promoting the item that you can't keep in stock for the life of you weather you advertise it or not.

I'm certainly not claiming to be unbiased, in my personal notes; I'm only trying to be objective in this thread. If you'd take the time to look through, I specifically avoided any attempts to derail this thread in to editorialized fanboyism, and any time I make anything I consider to be a remotely editorial comment on the state of the systems, I put giant disclaimers by it.

Diomedes, I am largely reporting sales figures here, and it's not something I can really spin. Any "spinning" of raw numbers -- such as claiming I sold 10 PS3s when I've really sold 0 in the last month -- would be "lying," and it would extremely easy to fact check. I have repeatedly offered the opportunity for you to call my store, and have given my store location, my store's official corporate designation, the name of my managers, and our phone number, in case you want to check any or all of the facts given here, as I have presented them.

Editorial: If you believe I am somehow presenting false figures, I have offered you a way to check my facts. Don't simply imply and insinuate and complain about the facts -- just check them.

Hey, any updates from work about various sales?

Im still interested to see if you have any new numbers.

Also, in your case, as being a worker, is there any way you can access total sales for everything at your store on a given week? That way you could provide us (or better yet, ioi) numbers for sales at your store?

This is a request to anyone here, I know there are quite a few owners or workers of various stores. I am sure if we could get a few honest wal-mart, target, K mart, Best buy, ect store workers that could provide weekly data, ioi could greatly improve his accuracy if he could even get 10 people.

Back from the dead, I'm afraid.

I work again tomorrow, had another long period off work. Will get back to you then!

And no, I can't, I'm sorry Stick. I'm just a peon. Work work, zug zug.

Back from work.

We've sold two Playstation 3s in the last week, since I've been gone, and only one Xbox360. We've got more Forza in, and sold one of the six copies we recieved last week. We recieved ANOTHER shipment of Wiis -- giving us three shipments of 25, 18 and 15 (The most recent) in the last 10 days. The 15 were sold in a few hours, as were the other two shipments.

Resident Evil 4 Wii Edition sales are tepid at our store. We recieved only 4 copies total, and have sold only one.

We appear to be carrying the 360, PC, DS, PS2, and Wii versions of the "Ratatouille" game, but not the PS3 version, which is what I saw with "Shrek the Third." I can't say for sure if we're actually not carrying it at all: what I know is that we're taking pre orders for all the systems mentioned above, but not the PS3. That means it's extremely unlikely we're carrying the game on that system.

I suspect that NCAA 08 Football is not being released on the Wii, for the same reasons. We're taking pre orders for the PS3, PS2 and 360 versions.

Hmmm I guess the sales have been boosted a fair bit. Considering that they were selling zero for the past month. Guess those releases helped a little than. Oh and remember to ask your manager for more shifts.

I want a daily article from you!!! Infact take up a second job at the local Best Buy.

Oh and have you tried out that Nyko Battery Charger for the Wii motes? I hear its really good and am planning on buying one soon.
