That's the problem. Many people just refuse to acknowledge that there are different types of gamers other than themselves. I personally got bored of fps during the Quake 2 era. JRPG I still play but not as often as before. There's only so much one can take before it becomes too much of a chore. I guess when you've playing games for so many years, you just expect a lot more :)

I no longer found myself playing the same gene/type of games consecutively anymore. If I just beat an RPG, my next game won't be another RPG. This is probably the reason why DS is currently my fav platform since it offers the most.

Actually, wii is the only one not limiting. What's PS3/360 have comparable to Brain age?

Wii play not be anthing great, but if you have a friend over and only a short amount of time, wii sports and wii play are great, taking no time to know how to play... Multiple people and the 360/PS3 can't even compete (besides online play!) with the party games for wii for fun.

Plenty of other fps coming for the wii like ghost squad and the second red steel will be much better than the original.

It's not about the graphics, it's about having fun. The games might not be as pretty on the wii, but there is a much better selection of genres to choose from compared to the other platforms.

We got more 360s in, but haven't sold any in two days. We haven't sold PS3s either, which makes it exactly one month today since we sold our last PS3. I sold two DSs and one GBA today.

We got 3 copies of Forza in two days ago. They're gone again.

My co worker is a counseler at a camp for muscular distrophy. His camp leader bought a Wii for the children to play with at camp. This is the]third similar story I've heard personally (that is, organizations buying Wiis for constructive child's play). I've heard many stories second hand, but it's interesting to hear these stories directly.

I bought Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess and Wii Play today. I don't own a Wii, but this does mark my final decision to buy one. I'd been wavering on buying one for a long time, as I haven't bought a console since the Playstation 1. I will pick my Wii up when we sell ours on Sunday.  

I've actually seen more people coming in and asking for Wiis again. It had never been low, of course, but it had gone down; I'd say I had been getting 2-3 questions an hour about it earlier in the year, then that dwindled to 1-2, and then to 1 at most. I'd say it's back up to 1-2 again. Keep in mind that at all points, this means I'm sold out: it just indicates how many people are asking me if/when I will get more, and thus about how many people are looking to purchase a Wii but can't find one.

When was the last time you had a pre-opening line for Wiis? 

I'm not at all surprised that the Wii is selling out despite significantly bolstered shipments.  The Wii is a self-marketing system -- people see it at their friends' houses and decide they want one for themselves.  The more Wiis on the market, the more people who will be exposed to them.

The popularity of the Wii will increase greatly among casual gamers as the installed base grows.  It will be interesting to see what happens when Nintendo increases production to 2 million or something similar.

Every single time we get a Wii shipment. The last shipment (3 weeks ago Sunday) was the first time we didn't sell all our Wiis as we opened; it took almost a full day. We had 30+ Wiis, and about 15-20 people standing outside. We'll see what happens this time.

Wii Sports is a virus.

I hauled my Wii and four remotes over to a friends house for a party. I set up the Wii in a theater room with plenty of space for everyone to flail around while playing on a 120" screen.

Every single person there owned a PS2, and maybe 1/2 owned the PSX before that. Everybody that played doubles tennis that night left wanting a Wii, both the males and their wives. The Wii was a huge hit. Between that party, plus having people over to my own house to play, I imagine I'm responsible for ~15-20 consoles sold.

Tech demo or not, Wii Sports is the smartest pack-in game ever. 

Did you get any Elite 360's, Bodhesatva? I'm interested in knowing how they sell, cause I still don't see them in any stores around my way (NJ/PA). Also, how is Shadowrun(360) selling?

I believe Microsoft said they were only producing 200K elites. That means any sales would be in the noise level, because 200k is about how many Microsoft sells in an entire month.

People who want a 360 might be waiting for the larger drive and HDMI to merge into the premium 360 for $399.  Buying an elite right now is a huge rip off because it doesn't even contain the quieter DVD drive or newer fabrication processors which should mitigate the 3-red-rings errors.  Plus, the 360 may drop in price early next year, leaving people who bought an elite paying $200 more for an inferior item.
