I used to consider that the game was too easy.
Then I died 7 times on a Greater Rift lvl 18 I think on Torment II. Yeah, that'll make me adopt a more serious gaming position on the sofa.

Greater Rifts difficulty is not dependant on the difficulty you've chosen when starting the game. In other words, GR18 is just as difficult whether you open it from a Normal or a Torment VI game.

I'm almost done leveling my 6th character as the Crusader in a hardcore playthrough. Have to say, Diablo 3: Reaper of Souls, which I have on my PS3 (Probably going to get the PS4 version soon), is easy compared to Diablo 1 and 2, though still fun enough for me to keep playing. However, the grind is indeed ridiculous. I understand it's an RPG game, but having to level up all 6 characters to level 70 on top of the 500 bounties just screams pure grindfest for months to come. Heck, imagine platinuming this game all by yourself without any use of apprentice mode, which means the grind becomes even more insane. Though I'm glad I made it far enough to almost finish my 6th and final character to finally see that platinum trophy obtained.

Aye GR18 is close on torment 4 to boot, so a step up if you are running torment 2 at the moment.

I played on the Xbox One and I put in 234 Hours in that game and have 1000/1000 gamerscore

I did not know that.

My wizzie's gear needs improving then if I wanna tackle higher difficulties. Also, I'm barely Paragon 65, but busy leveling the alts. Lvl 55 DH at the moment, and it's going rather fast. Finally shedding Cain's Set for better gear.

and what's  an easy way yto get the shards to go into greater rifts?

Well if you're shooting for the platinum, that means you've got plenty of Normal Rift keys, the only way to get Greater Rift keys is from Rift Guardians so you have to pick a difficulty where you can clear the rift relatively easily. You can do Normal difficulty Rifts if all you want is the GR keys but I prefer to find a balance between the difficulty I can handle and the time it takes to clear the rift. This way you might get good drops while farming the GR keys.

An added bonus is that you'll also get Blood Shards while farming your keys which you can trade with Kalada to complete a Set or get a great Legendary piece.

thanks for all the tips

for speed I tried 3 rifts on normal but they never dropped greater rift keys. 2 dropped something purple that I wasn't able to pick up. So I'll be going to up my difficulty again,

Yeah I still have over 450 bounties, most the hardcore playthrough, 5 characters to 70, though that hardcore is up to 14, and 60 or so Treasure goblins, though I'm seeing several in some rifts so I have a long way to go. I'll proubably do 25 bounties a day as well as some rifts to get that gem of ease, then level it, plus slowly progress my hardcore chacter. At least I'm enjoying it. I've put more time and effort into worse games.

That something purple you cant pick up is the blood currency or whatever it is called that you spend gambling with the woman S of the blacksmith in Act 1.  You can only carry like 500 so you need to spend some to get the rest.

If i remember it right you have 100 % to get a rift key at hardest setting. Problem when you get to high is not the rift, but how to improve almost perfekt items :). When you have tried for 100 hours without improvement other than 1 more paragon... You have to play for fun

Like Neo said, the purple  items are Blood Shards. Their sole purpose is to be traded with Kadala, if you've played Diablo II, it's a bit like gambling in that game, only this time you're not spending money.

I don't know what your gear looks like but let's say you've got 3 pieces of a set and you're missing the boots, you can use Kadala to try and score those boots. Just keep clicking for boots until you get what you want. The same applies with any piece of equipment you're trying to score.

Answering these questions is fun, I should make and Diablo III Q&A topic

I always think of grind when I think of Diablo... I recall spending endless hours leveling an Amazon and her amazon merc to 99 in Diablo II where it took days of the cows just to gain a level whilst being at constant risk of losing days of work from one death.

Bleh. I was really into stacking up tons of MF at the time and there was this thing called the "Ward Bow" I believe that was ridiculously good. I also recall some barbs using ist runes in two six-slotted swords, but I believe the Ward Bow still added up to more.

Fun times. Wasted a lot of my youth there.
