Anyone here have arcade sticks/controllers? I have been considering picking up one for emulation. I know fighting game fans tend to have them.

When it comes to fighting games there's no comparison.

Do you have one? If you do would you tell about it, please?

I have one. What do you want to know?

Do you want it for fighting games or arcades games?

it is good for fighting games. one of my friends, who bought Mortal Kombat X and all those characters on PS4. Bought the fighting sticks as well. i've seen him play, he has extra $$$. for me, i'm okay with the normal controller for a fighting game. i'll buy other gamers than another accessory as much as possible.

The thing with MKX is that it was designed with a regular controller in mind: 4 attack buttons only and special moves catered more to a dpad. So IMO an arcade stick won't make as much of a difference.

Play an older SF with 6 attack buttons, and more joystick-focused special moves, and you will really see the difference.

I've got a couple of Virtua Sticks for my Saturn, with an adaptor for my Dreamcast as well. I've used a handful of friend's as well, including a homemade stick using proper arcade buttons in a lunchbox.

I have 3

Yeah, i've seen some really cool homemade sticks.

I love Tekken, can't play it on a Arcade stick though, Tekken requires more precise movement and I prefer a d-pad. Now SF on the other hand, all those quarter circles can kill your thumb.

Hmm, pie.

true. the SF with that low, mid, high punch and kicks. plus 3 punches or 3 kicks for the 7th and 8th button would be better.

but again i would just use a normal controller for any fighting game and use the money to buy other games than buy the stick controller.  unless i have a ton of cash.
