So, FFVII remake was announced, and most of us are not sure yet wether it's a dream or not.
The announce of a FFVII remake by itself is a megaton, of course, but for a fan of Kingdom Hearts like myself, and probably many others on this website, it sure is even bigger. After the KH franchise and TWEWY, the quality of Nomura as a director has been proven over and over again.
Until FFvXIII of course, when his project was thrown into a developpment hell, as people suspect a big part of his crew got moved to other projects in development hell themselves, like FFXIV 2.0 and FFXIII. After all these were over, Tabata overtook the project, scratched away everything that was done under Nomura and Nomura stated that he could finally work 100% on Kingdom hearts 3.
But now we see this trailer that seems unreal, with Nomura marked as director. At this point, I wonder if it's not a bad joke from Square Enix. Nomura said that working on a numbered FF had been a heavy burden for him, and that after FFvXIII he would probably never do it again. And an FFVII remake of the scale this trailer implies (if half the cutscenes of FFVII are of that quality), FFVIIR would not be shy of FFXV's budget. Moreover, which is the priority for SE, KH3, or FFVII ? They again end up with two huge announced games with the same director, when they said they would not again do the mistake of announcing games too soon.
So which will be sacrified, KH3 or FFVIIR ? Or will Nomura be able to handle the two ? Or did another director take over KH3 too ? Is Nomura cursed ?!
