That's a pretty impressive opening for The Witcher 3, a series that is completely unknown to most Japanese gamers, and WRPG at that.

3DS down to about 15k, no significant help with the hardware for the PS4 despite The Witcher 3, Wii U back well below 10k again.

I always leave these threads a little bit depressed over the state of the Japanese gaming market.

Back below as in stabilizing below for the summer. We won't see much change in any hardware numbers there until fall, with the exception of a couple of spikes during releases, but there are currently no blockbusters planned for release in Japan for some time.

Nice for The Witcher 3 but the Hardware sales are pretty abysmal, especially the PS which fails to get any boost out it's new game.

Wii U seems to have a slightly better baseline than during winter though - or is this just anticipation to Splatoon?

Uitcha shows itself nicely! Also 2 more weeks, and MK8 will be a Japan million seller. Which is incredible feat this gen.

Almost everything about Japanese game sales these days is depressing.
I worry about the industry as a whole. We are on the verge of some serios changes to it all over the next ten years I think
