The thing is, to justify the new generation all the games needs to have a ton of new things that only affects to graphics, as a result, games need 4 times more work and more money just to look pretier.
I think that´s one of the problems sony had with the vita. To take profit of its hardware you need to do the equivalent of AAA titles on ps3, and for a portable console that sadly no one is buying, that was way too expensive to them, but that´s the way they do things, big budgets and great graphics everytime.
