Forums - Sony Discussion - Sony: 'No Concerns' for Holiday lineup

On a personal level, Sony has really disappointed me this gen and that is the reason I still don't have a PS4. If they're gonna win, I want it to be because they've fought for it, not because everyone else just screwed up and they didn't feel any pressure.

Of course they can't be concerned, they will sell PS4s regardless

That was Gara speaking, of course he was in defensive mode.

What..? Wasn't the point of the PS4's hardware to make it easier fo devs to make games on it? Confuses me as to why they would be struggling with the hardware when it was designed to be the opposite...

Yes and no. Easier to handle in relation to previous hardware of the PS3 or the PS2. That doesn't mean Developers don't have to learn to utilize the new hardware.

That's true, although I recall Mark Cerny making that statement that it would be much easier for devs to make games on it. Compared to the PS3, it should be easier to do so.

Winners always get complacent.

Can you blame them?

Their competition has been barebones this gen when trying to appeal to the average casual gamer.

The thing is, to justify the new generation all the games needs to have a ton of new things that only affects to graphics, as a result, games need 4 times more work and more money just to look pretier.

I think that´s one of the problems sony had with the vita. To take profit of its hardware you need to do the equivalent of AAA titles on ps3, and for a portable console that sadly no one is buying, that was way too expensive to them, but that´s the way they do things, big budgets and great graphics everytime.

Well yeah wat else are they going to say "yeah we have nothing for the holidays"

plus the two games they mentioned can be played else were

I agree plus they are marketing cod, battlefront, Mgs, batman, assassins creed and getting a pricecut. They may win this holiday in every region.

i say since MS already pushing almost everything they have on hand now on this holiday, Sony is concern to give XBO a holiday sales lead as long as they are still in a more profitable position...
