88. The game's original so it'll get bonus points for that.

If this gen has shown us anything, it's that people don't want originality. They want the same game they played last year with shinier graphics.

And what are those proofs, please?

Pretty much every 8th gen game follows the design philosophies of its 7th gen predecessors but tarts up the visual polish. Even the consoles themselves are pretty much just more powerful PS3s and 360s.

I see. I thought you were going to name a few titles that went for originality yet sold poorly.

Aside from the indie scene, where small budgets make risk more viable, originality is, in my humble opinion, very rare this gen. Nobody wants to take the chance of investing in an unproven idea for fear that it will fail. Established formulas are a safe bet that you can attach a lot of money to without much fear of it backfiring.

We are not talking about what the people want though, but what the critics want or value more, and there´s plenty of original games that were praised because its innovations in recent history, what people want is another story, but this time, I think critics and people are going to agree.

Critics are people too.  Their opinion is no more valid than any one else's.

By talking about the people is like he´s talking about the vast majority of gamers, but critics don´t represent exactly that, they are a minority that is supposed to have some skills, knowledge and responsabilities to analyze and judge the games, at least in theory.

Not sure how original you'd call it, but PvZ: GW deserved better sales imo. Tearaway is anoter rather original game, but we'll have to wait and see how it sells on PS4. It did ok on the Vita.

I have a hard time thinking of any other original game tbh.

Meh who cares about originality, I just want good games!
