Forums - Sony Discussion - PS+ gets two technical messes in 2 months?

Tower of guns is a decent game but was poorly ported and ran horribly on PS4

This month, Ether One seems like a decent game two but also runs poorly in several occasions. Basic control options are also missing from the options and according to GAF where a dev even posted it's because they didn't have time. So it was pretty much rushed and has to be patched

In fact, right now I stopped the game once because the low frame rate and strange motion blur were making me sick, but then I wanted to try again to see how many areas of the game were affected. There and then, a new update popped up. That somehow redownloads the whole game again. So, a few hours after being released it's already getting a patch and I doubt it fixes the performance.

This is pretty bad tbh.

You guys seem to have bad luck, both have played with no issues for me. Honestly I think you guys are having an issue with your specific game and then thinking it is wide spread. After the Tower of Guns thread I asked my friends if they have had instances of low FPS and they all said no and I have not experienced it either.

What controls are you talking about? It is so simple....

it's also about the person.  some people complain a game is a broken, buggy mess if it dips from 60 fps to 55.  i, on the other hand, don't really notice unless it gets down to 20 or less.   ...and i don't much care anyways if the dips are only a second or two in every hour or so of gameplay.

That is true, I guess some people are more likely to complain for a game to have drop FPS for 2 seconds when you enter a new area and some are not.

lol I dispise actually playing at a lower FPS than 30, but I have not experienced sub-30 FPS on any PS4 game that I can think of

playing bloodborne i've seen a few big dips but only when going from one zone to another and never during combat.  as such i don't really care.  it's way better than in dark souls when all of blighttown was consistently around 20 fps including during combat.

other than that i just don't see it.  for all the complaints about infamous's unlocked framerate or praise for 60 fps,.. i just don't see it.

Good example, yes Bloodborne does go below 30 FPS sometimes. Its a bit annoying.

But from what I understand from Digital Foundry is the FPS is not actually dropping in Bloodborne but that it is glitching, will look for quote and link.

"Though its 30fps average is technically correct, Bloodborne often produces two unique frames followed by two duplicates - rather than one after another - creating a perception of frame-rate drops throughout"

Blighttown is just terrible, FROM just shouldve deleted it lol

well i'm excited for ether one so when i play it if i feel the game's fps is unacceptable i'll come back and eat some crow for you.

also i just lied to you.  i'm in the middle of bloodborne and by the time i get to ether one there is no change i remember posting this.

I think 20fps is a very generous estimate for Blighttown, I think it was more around 15 on PS3 - and that awful black-green filter in the area still gives me nightmares.

Well it's not constant. I went through one section just fine. Then a new one made me almost puke. It's probably a combination of whatever camera blur they are using and the fps difference, not just the latter
