If this is anything to go by, we can expect a ~80k opening from XCX.
Japan must really like Puzzles & Dragons. Here's hoping that Xeno X has a very good opening week.
Dat Nintendo domination. Sony is doomed.

Is behind Puzzles and Dragons and Dragon Quest, did you hear about those games? spoiler: they are 2 of the biggest franchises on Japan.
Also Tsutaya doesn´t track bundles, and the XCX one sold out.
Nuvendil said: I don't know why people seem to have expected XCX to beat Dragon Quest and freaking Puzzles & Dragons. Those are MASSIVE franchises in Japan, XCX is still young. And Xenoblade has been more popular in west from the start. |
I don't quite understand that "still young" part. Even if we don't count Xenoblade as a spiritual successor to the "Xeno" series of titles (Gears/Saga) which date back to 1998; the first Xenoblade released in 2010. The first Puzzles and Dragons game released in 2012. So that's a hell of a lot younger of a franchise :P
OT - looks like the WiiU version of Dragon Quest has done extremely well, good for it. I'm also pleased that Operation Babel seems to have done "alright" (hoping for a > 10k opening since it's Golden week).
