Heeyyy you've not played Silent hill Book of memories, the diablo clone on the Vita, now there was a great use of the SH franchise I mean it... had.... umm... ... the logo on the box?

OT tho, definitely odd goings on at Konami right now seems their in a bit of turmoil internally and now it's starting to boil over onto social media, they really need to put on a good show at E3 to let the gaming world know they're still a super power in it.

and the horrible remasters..

God, the amount of memories I am suppressing. I am leaving this thread.

Who knew a remaster of Silent Hill 2 where you clean up everything could have been bad? :D nice clean looking silent Hill, just what people demanded! And Diablo clones of course.

Why not check me out on youtube and help me on the way to 2k subs over at www.youtube.com/stormcloudlive

It looks like they simply cancelled Hideo's version and are moving ahead with a true to form Konami version.

An expected response to the negative PR Silent Hills and Konami were receiving. I'm not quite sure it's sufficient. I don't doubt that the game could still release under the same name and originally planned premise, but they are being rather ambiguous about whether Norman Reedus would still be involved in the project or not. The conflict between Konami and Kojima shouldn't have effected uninvolved parties like the actors, and shouldn't have resulted in the cancellation of his ongoing projects either, even if their contentions were personal.

No kojima, Guillermo del torno and reedus = I don't care much for the silent hill franchise as much as I was before.

In short, players will be receiving another forgettable Silent Hill game in the future that has nothing to do with the Kojima/Del Toro/Reedus collaboration everyone who played P.T. was anticipating.

While I can't say that whoever Konami assigns to the next Silent Hill game won't be able to materialize a solid gold brick from nowhere, I'm going with the probability that unlike Silent Hills, I will in all likelihood be skipping whatever replacement game they come up with.

Too bad internal company politics had to wreck such a promising project; I was really looking forward to revisiting Silent Hill for the first time in years.

We'll get more Silent Hills, it's one of Konamis biggest IPs after all. Though without Kojima and Del toro Konami will likely commission the teams who made the mediocre SH games again.

Not really, guys. There's nothing that shows that it's definitely cancelled. Only that it's most likely cancelled. For all we know, the game is on hiatus until they figure out what to do with it or until work out legal issues. For example, how much of it can they keep and not be sued by Kojima, etc. All they're saying is that there's definitely going to be a SH game. Whether it will have anything to do with P.T. or wherever Kojima was taking the project is uncertain.

So it's not cancelled, but it will have nothing to do with Norman Reedus, Del Toro, or Kojima.... How does that sound like it's not cancelled exactly?

Not necessarily. Norman's comment on twitter suggests he still wanted to work on Silent Hills even after knowing that Kojima would no longer be working for Konami.

Hm. That doesn't really help.
