Forums - Sony Discussion - Driveclub Is Getting PS Plus Edition, More Server Upgrades, and Rewards Soon

Driveclub developer Evolution Studios confirms that in the near future it wants to continue upgrading the performance of the game's servers, so that the long-awaited PS Plus edition and the companion application can launch, while adding new ranks, rewards, and other improvements.

Driveclub launched back in October of last year, almost one year after its initial November, 2013, launch estimate. Developer Evolution pinned the delay on the desire to make more improvements and enhancements to the game and the community understood, more or less, this desire for perfection.

Unfortunately for the studio, the title encountered a huge amount of multiplayer issues at launch, which not only meant that it was unplayable online, but also that its promised free PS Plus edition was delayed indefinitely. After many updates, the game is playable across most of its modes, but the PS Plus edition is still missing in action.

A new update is live and lots more things are coming for Driveclub

Evolution has released a fresh patch that includes a free car, a fresh tour, and many other enhancements, and now it's talking about future plans with fans on Facebook.

The studio first mentions that more upgrades for the game's servers are scheduled to launch soon. These enhancements should allow for the debut of the PS Plus Edition at some point in time, as well as the companion application. Unfortunately, no time table is offered, so it's unclear when they might debut.

Besides these improvements, Evolution also wants to give players extra ranks and rewards that go beyond level 50 on a monthly basis.

Players who share their races via the PS4's ShareFactory video editing application will receive a fresh theme for free in the following days.

Last but not least, Evolution promises to launch more updates and enhancements for Driveclub, so fans should look forward to many surprises in the following months for the PS4 racing game.

Honestly, I'd rather they just add it to the IGC for some monthly PS+.

'bout freakin time we heard ANYTHING on the PS Plus Edition. After that, it'd be super swell if they could work on wheel/pedal compatibility. We're looking to get a setup for the house, but the 3 thrustmaster options aren't what we're looking for.

It's compatible with exactly 3 models of thrustmaster.  The T80, the T300R and the T500.  Look them up, there's an absolutely massive gap in the quality.   And getting @AskPlaystation, or the Playstation Forums to answer that simple fucking question, was a hell of allot harder than you'd think.

That aggrivation aside, from what I understand it has to do with a security chip that's installed in every thrustmaster, that may or may not be present in Logitech stuff....not sure, haven't really researched that part of it that much.  Just read it in my searching for a compatibility list.

Very good for the people on the cheapskate side... too bad I didn't had the fortitude to wait for it. Very good game.
