What investment are you talking about? MS has owned Rare since 2002. And I'm not saying they'll never do AAA games, they are working on multiple projects.

Perhaps you could more extensively describe the sort of title you believe they might be focusing on, or what you mean by a 'digital' title.

Thus far it does sound like you're implying that a very large studio might be focusing on producing some sort of small game for distribution via XBL.

For some reason I'm thinking that this game Phil Spencer is talking about is from a 1st party studio and too me it seems the only 1st party studio that every other 1st party studio is busy working on games except Rare, they've released their games like Kinect sports and they're also helping with Killer Instinct but that's probably something along the line as what Sony Santa Monica did with Journey.

Also I'm thinking Rare is working on Battletoads(they have been teasing it), remember hearing that from a Xbox E3 2015 prediction video and I don't think that will be a retail game, so I'm guessing they might have another game a long that line.

And by digital title I only mean a XBL game, a game with a lower budget than their usual games. I have a feeling Xbox heads want to work on new IPs and that is a way of testing to see if people want them is a by XBL game.

We wouldn't expect any less, Mr. Spencer. MS conferences are always very entertaining and full of great trailers.

Bet with Teeqoz for 2 weeks of avatar and sig control that Super Mario Odyssey would ship more than 7m on its first 2 months. The game shipped 9.07m, so I won

Good to hear Phil.

Well it obvious they will try to shows their best to not look bad in front of gaming media, and stake holder. With their current sales and brand image they need to do this even the result will be the same, they need maintain at least their small fan base and loyal fan. They need to get 10 score point to match 5 score point of PlayStation presentation.

Could this mean less marketing right on third party games like COD?

Last I heard, Sony could be getting that deal...

i have no idea where this assumption came from.
