Forums - Microsoft Discussion - Resolutiongate: the final verdict

I just came across this website: Because some games are more equal than others

I have no connection to the authors.

I miss the days when shit like that didn't matter.

While it's a nice perk for those that own a PS4 (and care about IQ), i don't think there's really any need for this thread. I can understand people posting the "X1 version is [x], PS4 version is [x]" threads, since they're providing a piece of news some might find interesting, but the core topic has been discussed to death. There's really nothing left to be said.

I dont agree, most of the discuissions I have seen have all gone in the direction that the xbox one will catch up when the apis get better and devs get more familiar. This web site shows it isnt happening and so it seems like it never will.

Actually back into the 360, Ps3 days there was a site  alled Head2Head which pitted up all third party games against each other and compared not only red but also textures and loading speeds.

In some cases even when the resolution is the same. It has been found that the PS4 version still has advantages over the XB1 version. A good example is the Digital Foundry review for Wolfenstein: The New Order:
It's clear that the PS4 gains an advantage with smaller drops in resolution that occur less frequently than they do on Xbox One. Metrics in the area of 1760x1080 are found on PS4, while on the Xbox One this can drop to an extreme of 960x1080 in some scenes.

Ps4 is better with multiplats compared to the x1... It is a hardware issue, not a software issue so unless the developers purposely gimp the ps4 version or have a parity or just be lazy, in most multiplats, the ps4 version should win and that has been known for quite some time now so we should really give it a rest :/

When was that? I don't know about pre-NES, but every generation since then (the last 30~ years) has seen technical debates like this between fanbases. The only difference is they're more readily available now (along with every other form of information).

There will always be a minority that believe things like that, regardless to threads like this that retread the topic over and over. The only way of dealing with people like that is to let time prove them wrong.

I know when I make the same style of comment as Red did I mean it in a "back before I was clued into these situations" kind of way.  Back in yesteryear when you just bought a game brought it home played it and didn't care if it was the same on the other console.
