Forums - Nintendo Discussion - So, uh... What the hell happened to those Wii Retail/Download games?

Seriously. They were announced since January, yet we've gotten literally nothing past the initial wave. What's worse is that not even 3rd parties have supported it. That's weird because, at least with Capcom and Tecmo, they are usually extremely good about supporting the Virtual Console, which these Wii  games effectively are. So what do you guys think is up? I think I know why Nintendo hasn't done a good job, but I'm at a loss for why we haven't seen stuff like Resi4 or Tatsunoko vs. Capcom creep up after such a long time.

Are we talking about Wii games for the Virtual Console? If that`s the case, they do have a few available, although it is still severely lacking...

I believe Pandora's Tower and a few more were announced recently if I'm not mistaken.

They are probably still programing most of them to work with the wiiU. I dont even think its their top priority out of the VCs since the wii is BC

They already announced titles like Pandora's Tower in Europe and Japan, so I'm pretty sure that more are on the way.

"Just for comparison Uncharted 4 was 20x bigger than Splatoon 2. This shows the huge difference between Sony's first-party games and Nintendo's first-party games."

Same question can be asked for GBA and DS support. Nintendo has a goldmine of titles they could release inbetween droughts. CAP and Konami are the only guys on VC right now 3rd party wise.

I think they are showing great support with Virtual Console now. I think getting N64 and DS games prepared for this April direct and releasing them would be my reason. Plus people still have Wii's and/or the games physically so being backwards compatible would be the other.
I see more and more older system games being released with once awhile a Wii, which is the right thing to do

GBA and DS support has been consistent.

I'm sure they'll release more, though I do find it a bit surprising that so little have been released.
