Forums - Gaming Discussion - What is the fate of Crash Bandicoot?

maybe smash bros or skylanders

He's dead sadly.

He crashed and burned

Just like the species in Australia, Crash is endangered

Activision are just gonna keep their grubby little fingers around him and never let Sony use him for anything. I have to think Sony has offered them more than what he's worth these days considering the fan demand and their past success with the IP.

I think Activision is assessing Crash as the monster PS1 IP rather than the current dead one. They see the potential Sony could bring it up to and want to charge for that rather than looking at what it is currently and charging for that or a little more. I believe this because even if Sony wasn't making them good offers (which I'm sure they are) for the IP in general you KNOW they wanted him for PSASBR and yet no appearance (IT'S FREE ADVERTISING IF THEY'D EVER MAKE A GAME WIN WIN!).

It's the free advertising thing that's confusing.

After taking Crash Bandicoot off their own website like it never existed, they send a cease and desist letter blocking Crash Bandicoot as an eligible character in a Naught Dog fan art competition. Activision owns the IP, it'd promote Activision, it doesn't help Naughty Dog....why bother? I just do not understand. It is as if their pride is more important than making money. It’s almost like a child throwing a tantrum. “We could not make the IP successful so no one will!”

I think just about every big publisher is staying away from platformers as a whole. They're not "in" right now.

Currently playing:

Bloodbath Paddy Wagon Ultra 9

He will remain dead, sadly.

If ND don't want to work on it like they said then I could care less of what happens.

...Let the Sony Domination continue with the PS4...

They should just handle it back to ND, they don't even make anything with it anymore and jusg keep it dead there.

They still keep in hope for sony buying it for a lot of money just because its naughty dog IP
