2 options:
1. You can open an account on wordpress.com and set up a site hosted by wordpress.com
2. Get your own hosting and domain, download the files frm wordpress.org (notice the .org) and upload them to your new hosting, set it up have your seperate blog on your own hosting and domain..

Second option is more professional looking.. But the first one is better for trying out, get used to blogging
