Forums - Sales Discussion - Battlefield Hardline beats Bloodborne in UK chart

Bloodborne got beaten by 22,500 sales

Multiplatform first-person shooter Battlefield Hardline fended off the challenge of PlayStation 4 exclusive Bloodborne in this week's UK chart.

EA's shooter enjoyed impressive second week sales to hold on to the number one spot. As UK tracker Chart-Track noted, Battlefield 4 had a better launch week than Battlefield Hardline, but Battlefield Hardline had a better second week than its predecessor, with physical sales dropping off by 43 per cent.

From Software's Bloodborne, then, misses out on being UK number one by 22,500 units. 2K's current-gen remaster Borderlands: The Handsome Jack Collection debuted in third place.

The only other new entry to make the top 40 this week is PQube's Ride, which debuted at number 25 after launch on PC, PS4 and PS3.

Here's the top 10:

  1. Battlefield Hardline
  2. Bloodborne
  3. Borderlands: The Handsome Collection
  4. Grand Theft Auto 5
  5. FIFA 15
  6. Dying Light
  7. Call of Duty: Advanced Warfare
  8. Far Cry 4
  9. Minecraft: Xbox Edition
  10. The Order: 1886

I don't care for BFH but I at least acknowledge that BF is one of the biggest video game franchises. Its bound to be more popular as an established multiplat than an exclusive new IP.

Hardline release date: March 19th
Bloodborne release date: March 24th

Ho hum

BFH has been a big fail. The game is terrible,  and is going to flop probably.

But is still above Bloodborne.

And that´s dissapointing. But probably Bloodborne  will have better legs, so not a big problem.

Impressive by Bloodborne. Battlefield is a very big IP, so to only be 22.5k behind it is pretty darn good imo.

EDIT: oh, it's BFH's second week, nevermind then, not as good as I thought.

Yeah, Hardline's 2nd week. The article mentions it.

And the dates are actually March 20th and March 27th

I Wonder if Bloodborne could have taken first place if it had released on a monday there. BFH had the whole week to sell units while Bloodborne only had 3 days.

The souls franchise is not a monster in sales and in fact we can consider it a succes if Bloodborne beats a million LTD . The fact that it is almost number one in UK and is doing well in Japan/Amazon it probably beats what the normal expectations are for this kind of game sales

This is also the multiplaform chart, so 5 platforms vs 1
