Forums - Gaming Discussion - Splatoon - How would other companies market it?

Splatoon Marketing could be handled well by:

Sony 4 6.56%

Microsoft 1 1.64%

Square Enix 3 4.92%

Ubisoft 4 6.56%

EA 4 6.56%

Activision 3 4.92%

... I'm just praying Nin... 42 68.85%

Total:61

Just looking at the piece discussing "what if Splatoon weren't Nintendo" and it made me ponder - if another company had Splatoon and were just as confident in its quality and needed it to sell as well as they felt it would review... how would they push?

Imagine your favourite publisher who has actual advertising skill were pushing this as a game with a 'shallow end' for everyone and a high-level 'deep-end' for competitive gamers. What are some steps you think they'd take?

I don't know about other companies, but I would make a collaboration with Nerf and DC shoes to promote splatoon.

Somebody give this guy a job.

Make everything black, give everyone a cape and say it's Batman.

If you demand respect or gratitude for your volunteer work, you're doing volunteering wrong.

That would be brilliant.

That's actually a pretty sweet idea.

"Just for comparison Uncharted 4 was 20x bigger than Splatoon 2. This shows the huge difference between Sony's first-party games and Nintendo's first-party games."

Other companies wouldn't make it. But EA seems to have done alright with Garden Warfare, so maybe them? Then again that was based on an established IP, so they didn't really have to do any heavy lifting.

I mean Sony or Microsoft would probably do okay.

The Nerf idea is a good one, but why not Super Soaker? It's a summer game coming out in May. A Super Soaker collaboration would be perfect.
