What part about it can be considered good except the graphics? The story? No, just no. Gameplay? Generic shooter gameplay. Characters are a joke as well. The game ends before it really starts, making it almost seem like they cut out a lot of content at the end. DLC will come, no doubt about that. |
This. It's a real shame such a big fuss was made by gamers about the length, it kind of shields the game from its real flaws. It's like Driveclub where a big fuss was made about servers, everyone just assumes that's why it scored "low". But if you read the reviews, not much was made about online issues, but rather deeper flaws in the game itself.
Same situation with The Order. Yeah it's short as hell. But that's ok if the game has good elements and strong replay value. I cannot think of a single redeeming quality of The Order outside of graphics, and it has literally 0 replay value. You're exactly right about generic shooting. And even though there are a couple weapons you get to hold a few times in the game before the narrative rips them away, the laughable AI and terribly small selection of enemy varieties more than cancel them out.
I just read someone say there is a seamless transition from gameplay to cutscene and how this is a "next gen feature". LOL. The cut scenes you cannot skip are the loading screens. Max Payne 3 did this last gen as well, only it eventually let you skip the rest of the cut scene when the game finished loading.
