1. Xenogears is the better game, despite its budget issues. :P

2. FF7 doesn't need a remake as much. It reached its potential upon release.

3. Nintendo is involved here mostly because they own Monolith Soft. And in order for the remake (with additional content) to be successful and true to original, I personally feel Monolith Soft would necessarily have to work on it. 

4. FF7 has way too high expectations from its fans. Xenogears would have high expectations, but people would be happy if the abridged content was just fleshed out fuller.

But SE already made one and they announced it for the ps4 at PSX xP
