I would love to see another but MS closed down Ensemble Studios, the RTS genre in general has been in a steep decline since 2009, there are only 2 RTS games this year from what I can see, grey Goo released and was lacklusture with the online community for that game dying off after 2 weeks from release, Homeworld remastered collection seems to be doing ok but it;s not breaking any records, it;s the same game with a graphical overhaul and UI with redone cinematics but everything else is the same.
Last year there was Planetary Annihilation and that reached "release" status but it wasn't really fully feature complete and it didn't really get out there as much, I own the game and still play it now and then but it still has a way to go, still full of bugs and needs more polish, Homeworld RC seems to bye the only RTS besides Grey Goo that looks fun and has polish with less bugs.
RTS is my most favourite of all genres but I just can't see it coming back in full swing like in the 90's unless more people get into making new RTS games and really market the crap out of them, don't make them over complicated but not way too easy and too simle in design, we definitely need more RTS games like C&C/Starcraft/Age of Empires etc though, turn based strataegy games along with strat games that have less focus on C&C are popular but they aren't the core of RTS and I feel there's a lack of balance at the moment within the genre, the sub genres seem more alive than the core.
I feel shooters,RPG and turn based games have taken the limelight for the past 5-6 years, I also find RTS games tend to and have always sold more on PC since it's one of PC's mainstay genres.
