Why hasn't anyone made a semi-realistic pokemon clone. That felt like it belonged to a monster collecting/hunting game.

The is specifically the kind of "next-gen" stuff I wanted in FFXIII. Not necessarily for an open world but one that felt alive, breathing and interactable. I can tell I'm going to love this game regardless of whether its combat lets me down.

Isn't that a pokemon ?

That's actually the first thing that I thought when I saw it

The game does look worse to be honest.

My biggest gripe about this footage is that it has no variation between characters. The dinosaur things look the same. The elf things look the same. The giant dodo birds all look the same. Zero variety.

This! I couldn't put my fingers on it at first, maybe it just slipped past them. I'm sure they'd implement it if someone brought it up. Let me go find the director on twitter lol

VXIII, where's your opinion on the videos here? I'd really like to hear what your critical eye has to say here ; )

Oddly, some of the visuals do look not so great on the vids, especially on the opening of the animal video. Must be the off screen video making it look bad. Those creatures though, man... such attention to detail!

Couldn't come up with much to be honest, expect that the footage is blurry due to the low quality of the video. and some conflicting animations in the scene where the animals are fighting :)

The detailed animations are really impressive.

Yeah, I figured with the quality of the vid, it would be hard to analyze it. The animations on those beasts are really good though. Their bodies flow so smoothly.

Something did seem a bit odd when it showed the beasts moving around and attacking each other. Didn't feel quite natural, but that's just me. Something felt off.

I'm not sure I understand. But It is confirmed that "Enemies will come in a wide variety of sizes If that is what you mean". Source, Other sources which I can't find right know also mention they come with different level and slightly different appearance.

Anyways, The footage showed like 6 or 7 kind of animals in one area.

The bolded underlined part. It felt off cause all the animals from the same species looked like clones. Maybe they still need to do some tweaking with the code?
