Forums - Nintendo Discussion - Thinking of getting New 3DS....should I?

So I have the orginal 3DS and I was wondering what you all think of the New 3DS. I never use the 3D function on my 3DS now since your head has to be in a perfect position at all times. Is it worth spending $160 on (I would trade in my old 3DS for $40)? I would probably pick up Majoras Mask with it too since I've never played the 64 version. Let me know what you guys think. Thanks!

Well you have to decide yourself obviously, but I'd say that the upgrade is worth it!
You'll get a much bigger screen, the c stick, more buttons, faster hardware, exclusives, improved 3D and amiibo support!
The improved 3D works really well btw! The bigger screens alone make it worth the purchase imo.

I haven't had a chance to compare 3ds and 3ds xl to the newer one. The new 3ds xl has a better cpu and better 3d. Since you have mentioned you didn't use 3d so it isn't a big deal. The only thing that would matter is that the new 3ds xl can play certain games which the previous versions can't, as Nintendo have said it. Not sure which games maybe xenoblade chronicles 3d. Not sure bout the list of games though.

If you think the newer version can justify your needs and your 3ds is old enough for replacement and you have money I'd said buy the new version.

I'd say the upgrade is worth it, especially since you're going from the original 3DS.

I haven't been able to use it myself, but the 3D screen apparently works extremely well, and the second stick is really useful for games like Majora's Mask 3D.

I also highly recommend Xenoblade if you're gonna pick up the N3DS, and you don't own it on Wii.

"Just for comparison Uncharted 4 was 20x bigger than Splatoon 2. This shows the huge difference between Sony's first-party games and Nintendo's first-party games."

I would like to use the 3D functionality, but it just doesn't work well enough on the old 3DS.

It works perfectly fine on the New 3DS! I guess you should go for it then!

I don't think so.
Really, unless you REALLY want to play Xenoblade (and don't own a Wii), you don't really need the N3DS, especially since you don't use the 3D (The 3D is one of the main reasons to get a N3DS).

Still. Is shelling out 200$ for an N3DS XL just for better 3D and a port worth it?
We'll be getting a new Nintendo handheld soon enough, and BC is pretty much guaranteed, so Xenoblade and whatever new exclusive will be playable on that as well.

But it's not just the better 3D and a port.

He also gets much bigger screens, a faster system, the c stick, amiibo support and more!
Also there will be more games coming to the system soon!
