Forums - Sales Discussion - People saying the 360 is definitely above the ps3 FUD needs to stop now

This is incredible! Oh no, it is pathetic. I don't get it... even when the things shouldn't matter, you are still twisting it.

It would be easier if Sony and Microsoft told us the exact numbers PS3 and 360 sold like they did all throughout the 7th gen.

The fact that they are basically tied is proof PS3 won in the end though. It caught up dramatically despite launching a year later with a higher price point. Props to 360 for giving the Playstation brand a run for its money.

I guess that's true, as long as winning is given a different definition than any in a dictionary.

Basically tied despite:

Playstation entering the generation with a massive lead in mindshare, fully expected to destroy the competion and sell 120M+.

The 360 selling 49 million more units of software.

The 360 selling more pereipherals.

The 360 having a vastly more popular/profitable online service.

The 360 ending over $1 Billion ahead of the PS3 in profitability.

Wow I didn't know the bolded were true. The first one is mighty impressive when you consider how popular the "lots of 360 sales were RROD replacements" bullsh is around here. I think it was even mentioned a few times in this thread or the one that inspired this thread.

Is it really that unbelievable? The PS3 lost more than $200 per unit sold initially. On the flip side, the 360 was made cheap. Why do you think it broke so often? And you act as if RROD was the only massive hardware problem the 360 had:

So you're saying it's even MORE impressive than I realized. Wow! Thanks, friend.

Hrmmm...."My copy of Halo is scratched. I have to buy another copy to play it". That's "more impressive" to you?

I guess you gotta take what you can get.

I'm just following the logic people use when they cling to RROD conspiracies :)

Xbox did far better in the 7th gen overall. Kinect is still the fasting selling device in history.

The RROD a conspiracy? It was as real as it gets. If you think that there werent people who bought multiple Xbox 360's you are wrong...i bought two, and the second one also RROD on me but i certainly wasnt going to buy a third.

Never said RROD was a conspiracy.

The idea that a massive amount of 360 sales were RROD replacement consoles, is a conspiracy.

There is no way to prove how "masive" it was the amount of people buying multiple consoles like me, but literally every person that i know that had the Xbox 360, it RROD on them. The thing is, most countries on this continent doesnt have the advantage to have a local distribution of consoles, me being from Venezuela, 90% of electronic devices sold here are imported from the US. We dont have a warranty per se of the console, if it fail you are basically fucked so my two consoles count as two sales.

Also, the Xbox 360 was pirated very early on its lifetime, so people from third world countries prefered to buy another X360 and jailbrake it instead of buying a somewhat more reliable Ps3 that you couldnt jailbreak. It was cheaper at the end because games are too expensive...i mean, there are tons of reasons that make me believe that the RROD actually helped A LOT to reach the amount of consoles that we have today.

No point in saying the PS3 outshipped the 360 "every.single.year." when it hasn't outsolded it every.single.year. since sales are obviously more important.

And why does it matter............360 wrongfully came last anyway!
