Since Nintendo doesn't have much in the way of first-person shooters, and they published Bayonetta 2 when no one else would, I say that they should publish another game that nobody else is willing to: TimeSplitters 4. Personally, I loved the first three games and think that while it probably won't sell that well, it would still be a nice addition to the Wii U and could add a couple thousand of sales for the Wii U. I personally don't have a Wii U, but am planning on getting one eventually. If they made this game though, I would try to rack up as much money as quickly as I could to get a Wii U. What do you think?

They should buy the studio instead and make a new first party shooter they can own themselves.

Well, this is new.

Read.

I've been saying this for quite some time now =p
It would be a good move to make. Maybe the sales wouldn't be the best but Wii U needs all the games it can get.
And I really did enjoy me some Timesplitters back in the day (well I still do). In my opinion it's one of the better fps out there haha

I liked the Timesplitters games on the PS2 and Gamecube so it would be a nice addition to the Wii U library but i guess that would be Crytek's call and they seem to be stubborn when it comes to newer Nintendo consoles even though their financially unstable at this time.

It could be awesome if done right, but would Crytek even want to do it? If I'm correct they're developing F2P games now...

Besides, their more recent games have been rather disapointing

Timesplitters had a lot of fans who really want a sequel. And a lot of them are/ were on Nintendo boxes too.

Putting out #4 would definitely be smarter. Smarter than new IP imo (if the alternative is buying the studio to do something brand new).

A new Uk studio with ex Rare devs (Timesplitters was developed by ex Goldeneye/Perfect DarkDevs) with at least 2 or 3 teams could churn out this sort of game just like the good old N64 days :)

If they did that, I'd be very happy! All the old Goldeneyr staff are doing is assisting in making a game, not doing it theirselves!

Me!

Timesplitters is an amazing game series.

It was the best console fps and the most fun fps for me at the time they were released.

I played all 3 a lot on ps2, hundreds and hundreds of hours and I'm still playing those from time to time. I also made some speedrun/challenge world records in TS1 and TSFP.

As of today, sadly there will be no timesplitters 4, it's just impossible. Crytek bought Free Radical Design back then in 2009 and created Crytek UK with these people, but they never let them do a timesplitters game in 5 years, and last year there was a lot of problems with Crytek and Crytek UK, Deep Silver finally bought Crytek UK.

The thing is, Timesplitters series developers are now a part of Deep Silver, but the Timesplitters IP belongs to Crytek so if a Timesplitters 4 appears one day, it won't even have 1 developer that worked on the old games so it couldn't be as great...

However, a project named Timesplitters Rewind, a collection of the 3 first games is being created by some fans of the game, and they are allowed to use CryEngine 3. At first the game was for PC but it seems it will also have a PS4 version (and will maybe release on other consoles). I don't think the game will be released before 2016 though

Prediction: End of 2015 Hardware sales (as of January 20, 2015)

Wii U: 12.1M | XBO: 19.8M | PS4: 36.0M | 3DS: 58.5M | PSV: 11.7M

That's one of those franchises on my "I'm ashamed to have not tried yet" list. I remember it always sounding pretty cool when I read about it but never got around to trying it.

If the reviews were decent I'd sure as heck get it.
