Honestly, I'm a bit hyped. Obviously not as much as I am for other games coming out, but I'm getting it. I love the idea of using the touch screen to guide Kirby, and since I never played Canvas Curse, this is something brand new to me. I don't get the negativity towards this game.

it's not unlike the hate for tropical freeze. except that in this context it doesn't even make sense because hal labs makes kirby games, collaborates on smash bros. titles and does few other things (pokémon snap/stadium/stadium 2, back in the day)...

i also think people have a problem with the sheer number of good, colorful platformers on nintendo consoles, i really do. notice how everyone goes crazy over ori because it's literally the only one with the exception of littlebigplanet 3 in the xbox station 4's almost indistinguishable libraries... and it's not for lack of trying, either. remember blinx the time-sweeper? voodoo vince? etc. etc.

we on the other hand get yoshi's woolly world, mario maker and kirby and the rainbow curse in a single year. the ultimate proof of this is the amount of hate this post will probably attract.

Not going to get it but at least its great use of the Game Pad!

Not a big fan of Kirby games in general though... I've only own 2 ever...

Well, I'm not even talking about just non-Nintendo fans. Although I think you raise a good point.

There are many Nintendo fans who seem to be putting this game down and I don't get it. It's not like this is replacing anything else. HAL doesn't make Metroid or F-Zero or anything, so why be upset with them for making what they make? And it's not like this is just another typical Kirby game either, it's a sequel to a game that came out a decade ago with a brand new art style and new gameplay mechanics. If someone isn't into this game, I understand that, but there's absolutely no reason to insult it when it's not doing anything wrong.

Regardless, platformers are my favorite genre (can RC be classified as a platformer though? It seems like a special case) so I'm in heaven this year.

same people who dismissed captain toad as a minigame collection that should be free dlc. and then it came out and it was amazing because, you know, 1-up studios AND the ead galaxy team worked on it, and apparently they make some bitchin gaems (who knew, amirite?). same thing will happen with rainbow curse.

Sort of excited for it because I like Kirby and this game's art style but the fact that I'm forced to look at the GamePad all the time in single player annoys me. Why can't they let me use the wii controller to draw on the TV or let me press ZL/L or ZR/R to execute the same controls as a stylus tap? Good thing its 40$.

It's just not the kind of game that's popular at the moment. (High production values, basic dual analogue controls, online multiplayer, etc)

Personally, I'm not interested simply because the stylus mechanic doesn't look like my cup of tea, but I still give it props for its art style, music, and for doing something interesting with the Gamepad.

Looks fun and interesting but not something I'd like to pay for. I wouldn't pay more than 20$ for it and it'd be very low on my list at that price.

"You should be banned. Youre clearly flaming the president and even his brother who you know nothing about. Dont be such a partisan hack"

As much as I like kirby I simply cannot stand his spin-off games. Didn't like canvas curse, outright despised epic yarn, so I'll be skipping this installment.

See, that's the kind of critique/feedback I can respect. Not being interested is perfectly fine, but outright trashing and disrespecting the creators of the game is very unnecessary, imo.

But yes, I agree. This certainly isn't the kind of game that's popular right now. It's not like when the Wii started to bring back 2D games and they were cool again. For some reason, games must cost a ton of money to make and be in 3D in order for them to be satisfactory. I don't even understand this logic because the Wii U has way more 3D games than 2D.
