Forums - Nintendo Discussion - A new Wii owner needs answers and recommendations from Nintendo fans of VGChartz.

I'll finally get a Wii on saturday.  A friend will sell it to me because he is not using it anymore.  It will be my first Nintendo console since the SNES and Wii is the only 7th gen console that I never owned.

The first games I am going to play will be:  Mario Galaxy series, Fatal Frame IV, The Last Story, Pikmin and The Zelda games available.

I would like to ask the Nintendo fans of VGchartz two things.

1º  Do all Wii games support gameplay with the Classic controller ?

2º Do online games still work with the Wii ?

3º  Recommendations of Wii and GC games for me.

Thanks for the one that help me.

Most of the games u mentioned do not support classic controller ie.zelda and galaxy for definate
Online has been closed on some games such mario kart

I find wii to be the worsed nintendo console and wii u is a massive improvement

Is it a japanese or a hacked Wii? Because Fatal Frame IV is on your list.

For Recommendations you should tell some genres you like or it will be a big list ...

It does play gamecube games however, so if you get Twilight Princess gamecube edition you can use the gamecube controller to play it. I recommend Xenoblade Chronicles (obviously) if you can find it, Resident Evil Umbrella Chronicles, Project Zero 2 (if you're from the UK), The Last Story, Pandora's Tower, Metroid Prime trilogy as well as Other M (SHOCK!!!), Galaxy 1 and 2, Final Fantasy Crystal Chronicles: The Crystal Bearers, Chocobo's Dungeon 2, Tales Of Symphonia and Dawn Of A New World (though the HD collection for PS3 can be got and for less I assume. Still having the originals is something I always want as a gamer and collector), Luigi's Mansion, Star Wars Rogue Leader, Final Fantasy Crystal Chronicles (the original for Gamecube), there's honestly WAY to much to recommend. Fragile Dreams Farewell Ruins Of The Moon, No More Heroes, Baten Kaitos series (it's pretty hard though, be warned), Arc Rise Phantasia (also a real monster as far as difficulty), I could go on so long....

It's a hacked console but FF IV is the only hacked game I will play.  I'll have the original disc versions for all other games.

I like RPG,Platformers and Action games.

I'll try to find all the games you mentioned. Those you highlighted in special, alongside SSB Melee.

For WII try Little King Story, that game is great, and:

Rpg: Xenoblade

Action Game: Sin and Punishment 2

For the GC you can´t miss F-Zero GX and:

RPG: Tales Of Symphonia + Paper Mario: Thousand year door (Best paper mario ever imo)

Action: Viewtiful Joe

Platformer is obvious: Mario Galaxy, Sunshine, Doneky Kong Country returns, Kirby Epic Yarn, etc etc

Recommendations:

Mario Galaxy
Mario Galaxy 2
The Legend of Zelda: Skyward Sword
Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess
Metroid Prime 3
Donkey Kong Country Returns
Sin & Punishment: Star Successor
Xenoblade Chronicles
Monster Hunter Tri
Resident Evil 4
Project Zero 2: Wii Edition
Fatal Frame 4
Rayman Origins
Okami
Tatsunoko vs Capcom
Little King's Story
Kirby's Epic Yarn
New Super Mario Bros Wii
Mario Kart Wii
No More Heroes
No More Heroes 2
Red Steel 2
Silent Hill: Shattered Memories

1-No
2-No
3- Many games
Zelda Twilight Princess
Zelda Skyward Sword
Trauma Centre 1, 2, Team
No More Heroes 1, 2
Punch Out (although on Wii U eshop now/soon)
Metroid Prime Trilogy (wait for Wii U eshop version, dirt cheap)
Xenoblade (if you cant wait for 3DSi version)
Little Kings Story (sort of like Pikmin)
Pikmin 1, 2
Zack and Wiki (point and click adventure that can be rather challenging)
Tatsunoko vs Capcom (severely under appreciated fighter)
Mario Galaxy 1 (not really impressed by 2)
Just to name a few.
